IMG_9879.thumb.jpeg.a2aefcafbbf87216b2b82bbad1685780.jpegHi,

I picked this up recently as part of a bundle deal, any thoughts on a rough grading and value?
Grateful as ever.

Victoria 2nd portrait Jubilee Head

Mintage 1 233 378

Engraver: Joseph Edgar Boehm

it looks in a nice condition, with minor dings.....

I'm really not the best to offer a valuation or what the grade is.......as I've been asking the same my self lately,

take a look on E-bay and see what's listed and how much they go for is a fair guide 👍

Seems to have a wide variation of prices either side of £100 on Ebay and others, only ever one way to find out how much they are worth and that's try to sell them but this one's a keeper for me.

Thanks

I would say it is around EF. (The coin looks dull but that could be due to photograph). If there is some lustre on the surfaces, perhaps worth about £35 or £40.

A bit of fun, let’s find out. Will list it shortly….

Didn't you say it's a keeper just 2 hours ago?

I did, but that was 2 hours ago, and things have moved on.

I've also just overspent on two error pennies and need to bring some balance back 😌

The key is the wear on Victoria's hair looks at least EF to me

Hi dwm2602,

Which error pennies did you buy that you think you might have overspent on ?

 Very Best Regards

Hi,

They are on the way will post as soon as I get them.

Just standard worn dies and partial letter repairs that has cropped up in many threads on here over the last few weeks, I'm afraid. Very common in the Victoria series and though interesting, not really worth any great premium...

Also die fill, the recesses fill with grease, metal powder etc over time during the minting process  and don’t fill fully when striking the coin.

£46.31 plus post/fees. Very close ☺️

Good! I seen your eBay listing and the photos you have there show off the lustre much better.

Thanks, still trying to get my head around the photos while trying to keep them as real as possible. I think they’ve got a good deal which is always nice ☺️
