Ever been caught out?

it was a vast improvement on a few that I already had they had been circulated and rubbed out 

I spotted this and both sides seemed in vgc the outer edge has a ding but other than this all seems well.......or does it???

the reverse look nice as well...a nice tone.....

it was in one of those lovely plastic envelopes 

can be bloody hard to open, I thought £7 was a good deal, so I coughed up and shoved it in my pocket...a done deal.....  

until later on that day.... I took a look at the outer edge.....top & bottom holes drilled

prized out of jewellery ? and you know even though you cant see them....I always know they are there. 

please do show some of your horrors and let downs......its good to share...  👍

A nice enough example - some collectors are a lot less bothered about rim holes than others. I have an UNC 1826 halfcrown with graining weaknesses at 12 and 6 o’clock indicating it might have been held in a brooch or something similar. It’s never bothered me in the slightest.

I used to get weakness at 12and 6 o''clock- turned out to be too much coffee....

£7 sounds ok to me, even with the holes.

Scrap value is just over £8 and so you can't complain.
