Voynov_BG Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 Well ... after accidentally this weekend I realized that I owned 1862 penny 2 over 1, which has been staying with me for several months without knowing, I decided to open another purchase from the summer - a bulk lot of over 460 Victorian pennies bought from a stamp dealer from UK-ebay. I checked them quickly (1862) - yes, there is no other 2 on 1, but after visiting the site rarestpennies, I was intrigued by another easy-to-check error - VIGTORIA. From about 20 pennies dated 1862, I found one where the letter C is very similar to G, but the coin is quite worn, so I ask for help - what do you think about this coin? 1 Quote
mrbadexample Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 I think you should buy a lottery ticket. It looks like one to me. Quote

I read in google that this could be a great luck, and after two days I bought the two lottery tickets in the photo below. Well - there was nothing there 16 minutes ago, mrbadexample said: Quote

1949threepence Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 Well played, Voynov. That's two incredibly rare coins you've turned up Not sure what the odds against that are, but they must be pretty long. Quote
jelida Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 Remarkable! Well done! Again you can reference the LCA site for value, one in poor condition recently sold at auction (from a forum member) at over £1000 , if my memory serves me. Jerry Quote
Rob Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 But the price is coming down with each new find Quote
PWA 1967 Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 Yes if your lucky enough to find one early of anything supposedly scarce £1K + get rid of it Quote
Voynov_BG Posted October 30, 2017 Author Posted October 30, 2017 Ok, for now I will not check the other unchecked bulk lots I've bought (and I have a lot of other work to do) so I will not drop prices anymore If someone has relatives or friends in Bulgaria, or someone is flying here, they are available at a price of 1000 pounds per coin. I'm probably going to list them on US-ebay after 2-3 weeks, but since the sending of coins FROM Bulgaria to UK and many other countries is illegal due to a lack of agreement between the Royal Mail and the Bulgarian post ( our laws are a bit strange because of the roman coins ), the coins will be invisible from UK when searching directly in ebay. This coin looks uncleaned. The 1862 2 over 1 looks cleaned in the past. Quote
PWA 1967 Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 Good luck but after the weekend you have had i think i would check the others Quote

Guest Tim Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 Put on ebay and let us know. There's bound to be a fight with all the interest the forum members are showing. Quote

Put it into a proper auction where the trust lies with the auction house and not the dodgy vendor on eBay. There will be a mechanism for transferring restricted goods abroad, you just need to ascertain the paperwork required. An added bonus is that the premiums will stay in the UK as opposed to sending 15% abroad through ebay and Paypoo fees. Those two businesses account for a lot of unnecessary capital transfers abroad. £7.7m profit made by eBay last year in the UK? My a**e. This country needs to keep its money circulating internally, not shipped abroad never to return. Quote

Do not worry, the price only applies to members forum here if pickup in Bulgaria, before listed on ebay. When post on ebay, the price will be $ 2,000 per coin. Otherwise, maybe January / February, one my friend will send coins to a specialized coin auction in UK, and if they have not been sold yet, I will give them to him. 1 hour ago, secret santa said: Quote
