Rob Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Stick a picture up. If in decent condition it would appeal to the US market, but if not then marginally over melt Quote

Rob Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Mounted it will only sell for melt value. i.e. the intrinsic value of the gold content. Quote
Nordle11 Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Is it mounted? Looks like it's in a holder and only the holder is mounted Quote
browny584 Posted January 31, 2017 Author Posted January 31, 2017 Just now, Nordle11 said: Is it mounted? Looks like it's in a holder and only the holder is mounted It is just a holder on a chain, no damage to coin Quote
PWA 1967 Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 It could of been heavily cleaned though Quote

Usually the edges are filed to fit. Quote
browny584 Posted January 31, 2017 Author Posted January 31, 2017 So I've taken it out of the holder, although I don't know a lot about coins I have an engineering background, there are no signs of filing/damage to the edge of the coin, so back to my OP are there any recommendations of places to take this or a rough guide value for eBay? I don't expect top dollar but do not want to be ripped off. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated. Steve Quote
Rob Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 In that case it looks as if you got out of jail. The pictures aren't large enough to give it a grade. You will need to post images where the coin fills as much of the image as possible. Face on and not at an angle. Quote
browny584 Posted January 31, 2017 Author Posted January 31, 2017 Hehe I'm no photographer tho either Quote
Rob Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Difficult to say. VF or gVF, possibly cleaned? All three would have pricing implications. Quote
