Today I've been looking at a dealer site that I hadn't come across before, and I would welcome the forum's collective opinion as to the grade of these three, and whether the prices seem reasonable. I'm not entirely sure that they are actually currently available for sale.

I've emailed the seller regarding the first one as it's a coin that's definitely on my wants list!

1693 W&M shilling - up at £180

1861 Victoria shilling - up at £130

1847 Gothic crown - up at £1195, seems good value if true?

Thanks in advance!

That Gothic Crown looks very clean , shame there is not a higher detail picture (I have blown it up, but it loses detail)

The Gothic crown is sold according to his site.

His pictures are truly awful, you would have to get better pics or see the coins in hand, but judging only by the pics for the other 2 coins his grading descriptions are """optimistic""" - the 1861 he describes as "Good Extremely Fine - Uncirculated Choice"

Cheers Gents.

Paulus, it looks like the seller still has that Gothic crown for sale, although he does appear to have sold another one that he had graded as EF for £1100 (ES0046 on his site).

Sorry, yes, you're right

An EF gothic for £1200? If it looks EF I'd be buying it then sending it straight to CGS, it's too good to be true

Hmm, I'll vote EF although there likely are hairlines, etc. that at least I can not see from photos. That still seems like a good price, however.

I emailed a day ago asking for better pictures , no reply yet

I may phone the number to see if this site is actually live...

Has a few nice coins that I would like to own.

Anthony Halse is a BNTA member and Chairman of South Wales and Monmouthshire Numismatic Society.

I don't know any reason the site shouldn't be live. Hopefully you'll get a reply soon.
