  1. My collection of £2 coins is ruined as far as coin collectors go as 99% of them have been cleaned just like my £1 coins and I now wish I had left them even though they found look nice.
  2. I am financially better off this month so I have spent out on a real Kew not cheap but I do have a small collection of 50p coins. I am shocked at how many £1 and £2 coins there are that are fake as well. Dave
  3. Sorry not been very well and the guy had the coin off has been in touch and I asked him for another but I am not holding my breath. Dave
  4. It seems like I am going have to pay silly money to complete my set again.
  5. Hi Peter I understand what you are saying but this is something that came out of the blue and is something i would never do to anyone.
  6. I would not mind if it was one of my other coins as i was really pleased and proud with owning a Kew 50p only to find out its a fake and it was my talking point to others and now i feel stupid and gutted.
  7. I was loving collecting but this has been a kick in the stomach i did not expect and it was fun whilst it lasted. thanks everyone from Dave
  8. My problem is i take people at face value and i have trust but it appears to have failed me this time as the Kew 50p was my pride and joy.
  9. I cannot trace who i purchased it from but i am thinking of not collecting anymore coins as i obviously am not experienced enough and i should have done my home work but i always take people at their word as that is how i lead my life and i guess this sounds like i am throwing my dummy out of my pram but i am not i am just really gutted. Thanks Dave
  10. This coin was my pride and joy and now I feel gutted as I would never do that on someone.
  11. I hope it is not a fake. Dave
  12. I have been reading about fake coins and noticed that the Kew has some knocking around. I have weighed mine at 9 grand but it should be about 8 grand and there is a difference with the queens eye against an origina. I hope mine is not a fake as I cannot afford another.
  13. I will be traumered if they go into mass circulation and i will have wasted £23 but on the plus side i only need two more £2 coins to complete my collection.
  14. I am not sure if the three Shakespeare coins are going to be minted in their thousands or millions and go out as tender or are they just going to be like a commemorative collection.
  15. I have recently purchased the three Shakespeare £2 coins and does anyone know if they are going to be minted in their millions or just BU and proof because if they become ten a penny I have wasted my money.
  16. It seems on the large auction site nearly all 50p coins £1 coins and £2 coins are rare according to the adverts. That means my collection is worth I kings ransom "not"
  17. I have just purchased the set of three and knowing my luck they will be minted in the millions.
  18. I would like a set of these coins if anyone is selling any.
  19. I just wanted a Millennium set the same size as the rest. Dave
  20. I know what you mean but i know i have devalued it to almost nothing but on the plus side the coins are now in an oblong case and match the rest as i collect sets of every five years 1970, 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010 and 2015. I also collect queen Victoria coins, 50p coins, £1 coins and £2 coins and yes i know that sounds strange.
  21. I wanted a Millennium year 2000 coin set but the Royal Mint changed the shape of the case from the oblong style to a con caved edge style and it did not fit in with my other sets in a book formation. So i thought i know i will buy a BU set and a BU crown and then purchase a 1999 empty case and put the coins in which i have done. Now i have done it i think i have ruined the BU set and should have left the coins in the cardboard packet. Dave
  22. I have used my rare earth on the coins and it slides down slowly and smoothly with the coin on a 45 degree angle so I guess the silver content could be right.
  23. This makes me wonder how genuine my queen Victoria crowns and florins are. Dave
  24. Does anyone know what the mintage figures are for this new not to be released £1 coin and is it worth collecting another for my grandchildren as a possible little investment. Thanks Dave
  25. I like it and if i were you i would keep it as i think a lot of work has gone into that. Dave
