Will stick with Colin Cooke. Had a great service, no over pricing of postage and a really friendly service. Can see what your saying within reason Rob but not for the coins mentioned at the hammer price. Prospective in p&p relative to value is called for. As for paper work and a jiffy bag+ VAT to double postage!!!!! Sorry seriously cannot justify, especially after taking into consideration their high buyers premium.

Sorry but £12 postage is an absolute rip off from a company already over pricing its services. As for £5 storage a day that is a bloody disgrace especially taking into consideration the size of the items. Can't justify those costs no matter how much you try... No justification

Hi Guys I would normally put any error coins I have in the "Dies, Clogs, Et all" post. But as this is a foreign coin thought it best to post here. Thanks to another member of the forum, I have inherited some amazing new coins and am having some great fun researching and learning about them all. I wont mention the member directly in case he wishes to stay anonymous. Enough to say I am a very grateful and happy collector with hours of research and catolaguing to do. Massive Thanks agian . Anyway here is a great little coin found amongst the coins I recieved. It has a mint error but I have no idea what it would be called. Any help appreciated. Cheers Brian

Hi All Got what I think is a bargain at the local Car Boot Sale this morning. I believe it is a 1 oz solid silver Medallion commemorating Ping An of China finance / insurance company joining the Hang Seng index in 2007. Thanks to Ian "Nutsaboutcoins" for the help. However I would love to have it translated completely. Any help appreciated. Thanks Brian

Here is my latest error penny. A 1901 with flaws to both sides. Sorry for the pics but my digital microscope gave up the ghost and has been filed in the B1N. Waiting on a new one arriving very soon. -
Hi Guys Just curious if anyone would know how I could find out the mintage figures for the 2006 Silver 20p Britannia. I got one for a great deal and have no worries regarding what its worth. Would just like to know how many are out there. I believe it was only issued via Royal Mint in the "Just For You" packs along with a George VI sixpence (but could be wrong!). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Brian

Just got a load of half pennies and came across a couple of interesting mint errors. The coins aren't brilliant but the errors are nice examples. The first is a George VI Off Strike. -
Thanks, will do.

Hi All, Can anyone give me the etiquette for sending coins to the Royal Mint for checking. The coins are not valuable but seem to have missed some process or other. Just want to clarify what has happened. Does anyone have the correct address. Do you send a returns envelope, etc... Thanks all in advance.

Help - How Best to Sell my Large Collection of UNDATED 20p COINS
bhx7 replied to a topic in Beginners area
I would be interested in a mint condition one depending on price as I don't have one. I couldn't possibly buy all!!!!!! Think even a dealer would be hard pushed with that many! Wow... -

Hi Scott I have had the chance to look through £6 worth of 2015 & 2016 pennies. There is s definite change in the J.C, the 2016 I can vissably make out as J.C the 2015 is just that to small to be 100% on without a loop. I haven't managed to find any crossover as yet, that isn't saying one still may not turn up. I have done a close up of the 2 designs at the same magnification. Cheers Brian

Thanks Pete. Also got a plug in for the forum. Have found a considerable amount more since. Will put up my findings on full once I have compiled it correctly.

Think I agree. The silver proof coins I did to remove finger prints worked brilliantly and I think this is probably the only thing I would use this product for. Think it works better with silver products, bullion coinage, etc...

Thought I would try this stuff out to see if it actually works and what kind of results it can give. Obviously I wouldn't want to try it on any expensive coins so I used a couple of pennies I have quite a number of. The first was on a 1967 penny. The penny had a reasonable lustre although there were some evident fingerprints and some slight tarnishing starting. I used it as stated; 5 seconds followed by placing the coin under running water to stop the process and remove and remaining dip. The appearance of the coin was improved but I also noted that it was a very slightly lighter colour than a comparable 1967 penny. Also that a number of small dark patches which had not been visible previously had now appeared. I did note that looking under a loop that these patches seemed to have showed up where slight verd patches had been, some not previously visible. My next test was with a 1938 penny. Again it had reasonable underlaying lustre but was dulled and the surface not overly attractive, especially on the obverse. Thinking about the colour change of the 1967 penny I only dipped the 1938 for 3 sceonds. Again it made a slight improvement with the lustre and removed some of the dulling and parts of the slight fingerprints. However I did notice that it once again brought out marks not previously visible as well as highlighting defects, possible due to removing excess build up of grime, etc. (See the slight gash at the bottom of George's neck). There was still a slight colour change but not as apparent as the 1967. I did remove a couple of minor fingerprint marks from some silver proofs which I had. It did these brilliantly without damage. The photographs all show before then after.
