So, Brexit....What's happening?

True but do not lose sight of the fact that a majority of the people voted to leave. Not a victory for democracy. -

Assuming remaining in the EU could be the option adopted I wonder how the UK will work with the EU after all the angst caused by the referendum. If UK stays will it be under the existing arrangements or will the UK have to adopt the Euro for example? I also wonder how the. UK can live with its self after being beaten into submission by a bunch of Europeans whose only aim is diminish the UK.. -
The Abelsoft Antilogger has IDed a program called Dataexchange host .exe as a key and mouse logger. On investigation this is a Win 10 file that records your keystrokes and mouse movements. For what reason I don't know. Although it is considered benign it could be a target for any hacker trying to access your computer and possibly one of the vulnerabilities built into Microsoft operating systems.

I'll keep an eye on and see if it sells. We shall see.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1913-NGC-MS-64-1-2-Crown-George-V-Great-Britain-Silver-Coin-18091610C/392215477362?hash=item5b51dd3c72#viTabs_0 IMO this coin is over graded and over priced I think. AU 58 -MS 61 is a more accurate grade and price wise over GBP 148 too much even if it was making the grade of MS 64.

I admire your confidence but when I run anti logger this app seems to pick up key logger malware monitoring your PC. Although it declares they are benign and and in addition were not detected by Malwarebytes. However my contention is that they should not be there to record your key strokes. If you are happy with this fine but I have to draw your attention to the lack of security shown to clients personal data by companies does not inspire me with confidence and IMO better not to let them have this data in the first place. So when there is a big data leak in the future and your bank a/c is ripped don't say you weren't warned.
-
Perhaps there is some confusion here the intention is to remove 3rd party installed keylogger malware not install malware on other peoples' PCs. It was meant as a warning. You can take it of leave it. I think the installation of keylogging malware on your PC by 3rd parties is unethical and represent a security risk to your personal data, passwords etc and if possible should be removed. This app seems to do this.

Abelsoft Antilogger free with APC magazine. I looked on Malwarebytes forum and it seems that Malwarebytes makes a decision if it considers the keylogger is dangerous and will alert you if it considers it a threat. IMO your keystrokes are of no business of a third party and in addition the security that surrounds customers' is poor and data is being hacked all the time. I do not want my banking details to be known by a third party.
-
Upinsmoke is not quite correct the keylogger detects malware installed on YOUR PC by a third party. which does not seem to be detected by my antivirus software Malwarebytes. that seems to make a decision on if it is dangerous or not. IMO anything installed on your PC without your permission is potentially dangerous and should be removed The keylogger does not allow you to monitor other peoples PCs.

II recently installed a freebie keyboard logger App from a PC magazine I have a subscription for. As it happens I also installed an update to my Epson printer driver after scanning for keyboard loggers After the driver was installed I ran the keyboard logger app again and found that the driver app installation had installed a keyboard logger. I cannot think why Epson would want to do such a thing other than they can.. As I run my PC via a VPN I can only conclude that Epson was responsible. If anyone is interested to install a keylogger they can be found on CNET.

Recent Purchace on Ebay 1898 Florin
ozjohn replied to ozjohn's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Thanks Paddy. Fair comment. I was a bit peeved at the time but thought I should hold my fire. Caveat Emptor. It enhances, although not foolproof, the case for TPGed coins. -
I recently purchased this coin on Ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/273632071985?_sp=p2488212.m41214.l9765&_trkparms=itemid%3A273632071985 where it was advertised as very high grade. On receiving the coin IMO it is VF to GVF if you are generous which is not a very high grade. The photo in the posting was a bit out of focus which should have raised the alarm bells but I decided to give the seller the benefit of the doubt so it's basically my fault. However I think I am entitled to give the seller negative feedback. Any thoughts?

Let's See Your Toned English Milled Silver!
ozjohn replied to Paulus's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Like I say these sets were offered in red leather with tooled gold long presentation cases with blue interior with spaces made for the coins. Maybe they were made afterwards I don't know.Having said that I have seen in the past square cases of a similar nature to hold 4 coins. -

Not a collector of Maundy coins myself but very nice coins indeed. A little while ago Sterling & Currency of Fremantle had several maundy sets for sale all housed in custom red leather cases similar in color and gold tooling to the RM proof cases. Not sure if these were official presentation cases but impressive nevertheless. -
Looks like a fake to me? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1877-SILVER-GOTHIC-FLORIN-EXTREMELY-RARE-NO-DIE-NUMBER-AND-NO-MAKERS-MARK/392206437139?hash=item5b51534b13:g:GY8AAOSwCVtcLjCn

Let's See Your Toned English Milled Silver!
ozjohn replied to Paulus's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
I've seen many alleged cleaning claims for coins shown on these forums but for the life of me I couldn't tell and would not comment unless I was certain ie scratch marks over the whole coin or a polished effect for non proof coins Maybe it's a 6th. sense. Having said that for a coin of more than 100 years of age I'd be surprised if it hadn't been cleaned at some time in its life. -

Had this one for a while. Not sure if it has been displayed before but it fits the bill as a toned coin. My own grading is Abt.UNC/MS61 any feedback would be appreciated. Has to be said when you are presented with a coin like this it will be a long time before you will find another unless you are very lucky. -
Penny Acquisition of the week
ozjohn replied to Paulus's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Call it what you like it is still an impression of the obverse on the reverse in this case which IMO is ghosting,. however slight. In this case it is quite distinct and obvious as an impression of the Queen's head on the reverse of the coin. Certainly not as deep as the later examples from the early George V series. That's all I have to say about the matter. -

Scotch mist? The impression of the obverse can be seen on the reverse. That's what they call ghosting IMO. The wear of the coin is irrelevant unless the image has been worn enough to hide the ghosting. In that case you wouldn't be able to detect ghosting as it would have worn away. Having said that I think we can agree it's a great coin and ghosting or not that' s how it left the mint all that time ago. -

Great coin. Don't know how they survive with full mint lustre for so long. As an observation it appears the RM issues with ghosting are apparent with this coin. I would be very happy to own this coin. -
So, Brexit....What's happening?
ozjohn replied to azda's topic in Nothing whatsoever to do with coins area!
The result of the re-election of May solves nothing probably makes a bad situation worse. May is PM trying to sell a Brexit that no one will buy. The 117 who voted against her are unlikely to support Brexit in its present form and if it goes for a vote in the House of Commons it will be rejected leaving the UK facing a general election. Perhaps May will want to abandon Brexit which I think was always her plan but it will leave the majority who voted for Brexit wanting to vote May out paving the way for a Labor government lead by that maniac Corbyn. What a gutless bunch of w####ers the Tory MPs have proved to be. Good luck to the good ship UK (Titanic?) -
Ghosting on the currency issue? Can't say I've seen that on Jubilee coins before.

Being pushed around by the EU is not the same as being pushed out by the EU. Nobody said that the EU ever said thatThe whole point is the EU wants the UK to stay as leaving threatens the stability of the EU . Not because they love the Uk. I thought that was obvious right from the start.
