  1. Actually, it is here too! So nostalgic
  2. There's certainly a starkness to the darkness
  3. It really depends on the metal. Have a look here, it's quite informative.
  4. Probably there just to show the size/thickness as opposed to the design or denomination.
  5. Sounds like a very good purchase. Pics if you can VS!
  6. It's funny because the (confirmed) email address this person has used can be found here; http://www.reliableoildealsconsultancy.com/hallofscam.html which is a 'Hall of Scam'. If you're interested, search for 'Scam Lot #2' and it's person number 1 called 'Nicole' (matches Nicky123)
  7. I wouldn't be able to spot a matt coin if it was in front of me, proofs/matts/proof matts/VIPs etc. that's probably why I stick with circulation
  8. 1916 pennies aren't copper anyway, and probably not but if you can post pictures or any other information it would help
  9. Nice purchase, have you got a reverse shot Richard?
  10. Welcome to the forum Jayser. As you mentioned, people on eBay like to take the piss, unfortunately your coin's worth £2, the error doesn't do much to the value here.
  11. The plot thickens!! It seems like something has gone awry during the sale/messaging/refund process. I'd be happy to send them an email to see if they respond, just let me know.
  12. Is it not this seller? Seems strange to do that, and checking their feedback they don't actually sell much. Sounds like something went wrong somewhere.
  13. No, it's that the joke went over your head I have no idea how many border teeth there are.
  14. That's pretty interesting, added to the price guide section
  15. Hi Matt and welcome, Nothing special unfortunately. Don't pay much attention to the prices on eBay they're always 1p to a million and everything in between. If you run across anything like this in the future and want to double check, search on eBay but take a look at the completed listings and it'll give you a much better idea of value. All the best
  16. Is it mounted? Looks like it's in a holder and only the holder is mounted
  17. In which case I think it was from when KN were trying to secure rights to supply blanks for the London Mint, and having the equipment themselves to actually strike coins they wanted to create examples of what they could produce as well. I suspect that's what lead to them being brought in in 1918 & 1919, although as has been noted the obverse is very weakly struck which might explain why they were attempting to produce examples during Eddy's reign and didn't actually create any pennies until a decade later. Attempts at expansion I would guess.
  18. It seems everything he is selling are counterfeits, however he has noted that fact in all the titles.
  19. Thanks So are you looking for provenance or information on the trial piece itself?
  20. Ah sorry Guy I thought you were looking for one I obviously mis-read your comment. However, there seems to be more information in those lots about the coin in question so you might get something extra for your records.. The first example also seems to be missing the border rings on the obverse, maybe a weak strike but I can't spot a hint of them. Perhaps a different trial design?
