another fake slab looks like someone is about to get stung

Hi all, just looking to see if there is something additional abut the rarity for this and this justifies the high price? PF66 Other PF66 sold for about $8-10k so this one is slightly higher, ESC doesnt list any proof varieties so at a bit of a loss. e.g. this part set 4 coins contains a PR67 and sold for $16k thanks in advance

Great,thanks for the information I have seen this property before, didnt realise that it was filing i just assumed it was a variation in striking the coin, what is still confusing me is it seems some of the dots are completely connected to the rim rather than the rim folding over due to filing. Is it better seen in hand to see the seperations?

my take away from all this is it there is 0 difference between vip and non vip from standard standard proof years. only worth the splooge for non standard dates. I personally like the 1928-1936 date range HC and sixpence proofs and considered buying one in the past but IMO they fall in the same catagory s the above most the time, rarely cameo, can be easily reproduced in quality with standard strike and the depth of fields/ sharpness of strike is not far off a standard strike. Considering the price difference between a standard strike 1928 HC amazing quality £45-60 or a mediocre "proof"(some are also questionable) for £1200 i chose multiple high grade standard strikes. Bare this all in mind that i love buying proof coins too, nothing beats the level of quality a proof provides but when standard strike/normal proof is indistinguishable from the VIP version then personally I call it highly justified to avoid as it just doesn't make sense

I just want to double check that I'm not being ridiculous in saying that these should end up nowhere near a slab and being "guaranteed as authentic"?

id personally steer clear of that one what about these 2? 1 and 2 my thoughts are either a fake slab(think they have LCGS as the name these days on the slab)? or lcgs have stooped even lower and slabbed this post mint error as legitimate. the more i look, the slabs look legitimate and i cant believe this gets past their "experts"

fantastic, love this sort of stuff. anyone know or have a record of any dies or matrices ever coming to the market? I know its a big no no for these to leave the mint but i've seen some other countries coin dies for sale and wonder if there are a few British ones out there

As always guys buy the coin not the slab, ms63 might be on the higher side of the grading for this coin considering some of the damage of the fields. Price will most likely go for a ms63 coin rather than the lower examples out there, mind you it is a good upgrade if you are looking to replace your current one

you get a discount if you buy them all together at least? we all have our vices, mine is 1928-1936 half crowns, florins and six pences, i have more of these than i know what to do with or why i cant stop buying them
