  1. Did anyone get a physical copy of the catalogue?
  2. No images for me either - they return a 403 (Permission Denied).
  3. Interesting, looking forward to taking a look. Do Sovereign Rarities do .pdf catalogues or will it all just be on their website?
  4. Not my area of expertise but 5 over 6 looks like what it is.
  5. Hoping to soon - still not showing at https://auctions.sovr.co.uk/upcoming-auctions though.
  6. Oh, is he still working on that book? I think it was mentioned in Coin News a few times.

  8. Upside down E seems most likely.
  9. I don't keep tabs on all the repairs - too many - but they're good to know for die identification etc. Agree with T over T for the first - maybe T over I for the second but the I looks short?
  10. Definitely a 4 over or under something - upside down 5 seems possible but what a mess they made of that digit.

    William II

No idea offhand, but https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces316623.html says that pieces were struck in the name of William, not William II, so it seems a little difficult to correctly attribute them.
  12. Ah, thank you! Yes, it was the Verene Collection: https://www.noble.com.au/auctions/lot?id=450665 I remember quite a few items of interest in that auction.
  13. Page 22 of the February 2025 Coin News mentions a previously unknown pattern 1887 sovereign sold in 2022 - does anyone know which one this is? I have a few different 1887 pattern sovereign types recorded but the article didn't go into specifics.
  14. Do you have a picture of the whole coin? Or will it be in the auction catalogue. I got another email looking for more consignments so hopefully not far away now.
  15. Not sure - but the pattern does look a bit odd.
