  1. I just had a look. Sold out now and your advert has resulted in at least 11 purchases by forum members out of a total of 24 available. 🙂
  2. I think you might have posted in the wrong tread ...
  3. I confirm I don't know anything about farthings. 😀
  4. I think people are keener to collect 50p and £2 coins due to the seer number of reverse designs available making the series more "interesting". By contrast, are just two reverse designs for 2ps.
  5. NS and I (UK's state owned savings bank) has a new look website. [Savings] is what we're good at. And what we care about the most?! 😄 What cheek after announcing the most unbusiness like interest rate cuts: Direct ISA: from 0.9% to 0.1% Direct Saver from 1% to 0.15% Investment account from 0.8% to 0.01% Offering just one tenth interest in some cases compared to recent market leaders. Simply taking customers for fools.
  6. Meaning pinned, so that it will appear ahead of the other treads in the group.
  7. Found this example: https://simmonsgallery.co.uk/shop/tokens/19th-century-copper-token-coinage/mb94-34-19th-c-copper-penny-tredegar-iron-company-overstrike-high-grade/ Not nearly as nice as yours. It's a very interesting piece regardless of its value.
  8. Only just seen this. Well done! That's always the possibility when chasing something that is very rare / elusive but not particularly pretty to look at. You get many years of enjoyment and excitement looking for it but might simply put it away once it is acquired. But some new target will now take it's place and so it's not really a problem. The hunt continues with a new prey.
  9. It has now been removed along with the rest of her items. Hopefully, the game is finally up.
  10. I think the it is not so important whether a coin has been "cleaned" or not but how much damage the cleaning has done and the overall appearance.
  11. I tipped off JN coins the first time but it is relisted again. Some people are persistent.
  12. I had a look and the current spot price is £5.33 per kilo, being 1.4 times the price in March. I suspect the scrap merchant would quite reasonably want a cut and so the price might not be much higher than what Paddy has got unless you have a large amount.
  13. Each penny is 9.4g and would give a scrap value of 5.0p by my calculation assuming it is all copper.
  14. Snow White and the 6 Dwarfs would still be one too many. Sneezy need to be self isolating.
  15. Now reduced to £1.
  16. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/333711160598?ViewItem=&item=333711160598 Finally got taken off.
  17. That would indeed be the most sensible thing for Royal Mail to do. But I have just seen this story which is somewhat worrying. https://postandparcel.info/17817/news/up-for-auction-75000-items-that-were-lost-in-the-post-by-royal-mail/#:~:text=Royal%20Mail%20has%20admitted%20selling,their%20post%20has%20gone%20astray.
  18. The question is, who owns an item resurfacing after it has been "lost" in the post and full compensation has already been paid to the owner? If I have to guess, then I would say it then belongs to the Royal Mail, but I can be wrong. I am not certain if the original owner still have any right after that.
  19. "With Beautiful Luster". Rather cheeky to be describing a polished coin with that phrase.
  20. I do like the engravings of the INA pieces. One of the things I regret is that the very nice coronet head of Queen Victoria was only used in foreign coins and not home currency.
  21. Another way of putting it is that over half of those graded by PCGS (9 out of 16) is of the same grade or higher.
  22. At least it has now been removed. Most of the other items are school books and so I guess the person is either a parent or a kid. What a crazy and reckless thing to do. You have done a good deed and saved him or her from getting into some serious trouble.
  23. Removing stones from beaches is illegal under the Coast Protection Act 1949!
