  1. Have you been missold a undated 20p? Did you realise you can get full compensation from this evil act on ebay - please contact the numismatic sales onbudsman now and claim you compensation which can be spent in any way you choose As long as it's on a package holiday to syria .
  2. To be honest I thought this as well its a format that has worked well twice before , and I did tell everyone on here to fill their boots With edinburgh pound coins ),months ago and kept repeating it . The one thing that has me totally surprised is the fact that the great british public never seem to forget or loose interest in these urban legend coins . Its been over five years since the undated 20p was anounced to the public even though it was known of six months before the press anouncement and it still fetches ten times its worth. I really wonder what sort of person is buying these coins , and why , they are not coin collectors or have little interest in coins but still they buy , has anyone any ideas why? Is it a follow the leader like thing and who is the leader ? The daily mail, the sun or the mirror . Have wer created in this country a class of people that cannot think for themselves and have to be told what to buy on the internet by the media because they are mindless and week willed ? Just thinking out loud !
  3. obviously sales were slow that day so he picked your change out of a tray!
  4. yes idot is the person that will buy it not the person that gave it , wonders if peter is quids in with a mint bag?
  5. Poor old coin dealers are about to get another assault from the masses - The edinburgh £1 has just recieved mass publicity just in the last week or so to have every coin dealer in the coutry cursing it for the next five years
  6. heat or chemical / enviromental damage many coins end up like this after exposure to sea water
  7. They are overrated yes but so is the undated 20p My tip is the edinburgh £1 coin next for big publicity , new £1 coins come in this year and the old ones are demoniterised
  8. do update us on what happens to the coin
  9. To be fair I have seem many many George IV crowns much much worse than this - yours is lucky in that everything is clear on it at least - it also been polished which means it has little numismatic value , keep it as as you clearly like it - it was probably a "pocket piece" for many years.
  10. At a quick glance i would say its genuine 1 .3 g is not a lot , its worn and wear can account for that and you bought it cheap if you paid a lot it might be worth forging it , but not in this grade . you could always get it tested for silver if its not its a forgery
  11. yes peter - the obverse is far better than i realised at first , it even looks to be aproaching nvf grade , with less gunk on it every time it worked on The reverse is what lets it down , there again the g's over are on the obverse aint they
  12. Verdi care arived today , so have been trying it out on the coin - maybe I should have tried a lower value coin first , but was itching to try the stuff out As you can see from above picture coin is looking better all the time
  13. I find it strange you never remembered the coin in all these years even back in the sixties-seventies it was considered quite rare and was hardly a schoolboy collectors coin . Anyway congrats on the coin and I am sure if you sell it will pay for a nice holiday at least
  14. Fine or so - slightly better on the reverse - this is normal

  19. coin number three looks like a george 11 or 111 farthing , the other two are what i would call buttons and even scott would turn his nose up at them.
  20. They were released in late 201o the dailly mail at the time ran a artical on them speculateing they were worth ££££ , what a surprise , they even seemed to have dificulty working out that time only runs in one direction forward ,something I worked out years ago
