  2. I see lots of Victorian love tokens with lovely old names such as Dotty, Flo, Hattie, Agnes, Harriett…..
  3. I had never really associated the name Tracey with the Victorian era!
  4. He he. This thread always makes me laugh out loud. Well spotted gents, always entertaining!
  5. But it did make me laugh!
  6. Wow that seller has a lot of coins to shift!
  7. I feel the need to re-address the balance somewhat....... What's the difference between government bonds and men? Bonds Mature. What did god say after creating man? I can do better. husband: Want a quickie? Wife: As opposed to what? How many men does it take to put a roll of toilet paper on the hanger? No one knows... its never happened
  8. Fubar that makes me think of bletchley park!
  9. Thanks guys - that has definitely made me feel more confident about making the change and also that I've made the right decision to go for Windows 7.
  10. Hi Nordie Thanks ever so for that, good point about the support. I’m not the most technically minded and I hate having to change and upgrade, even though I use the computer every day for work. I dread each new Office upgrade too!
  11. Morning all! With the approaching demise of Window XP support I think a system upgrade is way over due. I am thinking either Windows 7 or 8. I have had some not so complimentary reports on Windows 8 as it appears to be a totally different navigational experience. I was also thinking of Windows 7 because my boys’ school uses this one. Has anyone had any experience with this or can anyone tell me what the pros and cons of using one and not the other are please? Any advice most appreciated!
  12. Happy 10th Anniversary Rich Tom! Tin or aluminium I think.
  13. Only kidding
  14. We still need more ladies - then we could have more topics leaning towards shoes, shopping and six packs!
  15. Ah well why change the habit of a life time - make a slight change from something to do with motors or fishing .....
  16. Gosh and that was the winner?
  17. I guess if it is compatible with the old £ coin then they could phase it in gradually over several years, rather like the old 5P coin and the shilling.
  18. I like it. Wonder if it will still work in the current vending machines?
  19. Peck that is almost as bad as my "Mr Benn" comment!
  20. And I take it that the charm has been working well for you Peter!
  21. Nice - and you can see just where its been touched the most. Nordie - I am constantly learning new things about coins too!
  22. Oh dear, yes sorry Patrick for hijacking your thread! I vaguely remember you talking about you painting war hammer figures when you were sorting out your bedroom or something along those lines I could (and still can) relate to the mess as my son is an avid collector. Richard I love the idea that you actually wear that touch piece. I have quite a few love token broaches pinned to various garments / hats and the like. They are almost always commented on – they all have a story to tell! Rob - so, do you have one for sale?
  23. I guess you would have already see this? http://www.britnumsoc.org/publications/Digital%20BNJ/pdfs/1979_BNJ_49_11.pdf
