  1. Lancasters are 4-propped planes! I was curious about the flying fighter planes, perhaps they were ME109s? They're definitely not Spitfires, but could be hurricanes at a very imaginative push?I think the sky scene are meant to represent the Luftwaffe? Not sure though? Def two spits on the ground though!
  2. Weird. The interference at 1:22 had potential. A lovely bit of flower power in an otherwise testosterone packed performance!
  3. Hefeweizen for me please! That's my long drink of choice in Germany! Quality cider at home!
  4. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sgzZLNwqvdQ
  5. The bagpipes are a singularly spine-chilling instrument! There's a piper who busks in Bath and Thornbury (Bristol), and I can barely walk by, such is the trance it sets me in! I love them!
  6. Always a series of texts back and forth across Europe when that occasion happens!
  7. The label "Made in Germany" was introduced by Britons Yes, I remember that from my interest in mantle clocks!
  8. You got away lightly - I married one.Mind you, from the organisational/household's point of view it was probably a blessing in disguise. It's difficult to argue that German engineering isn't better, I have to say!
  9. English... German.... joint ancestors, same cultural origin. A pity and tragedy that these two people fought two disastrous wars against each other. Britain is very popular in current Germany. My girlfriend is very anglophile, you should have a look into our flat... Union Jack, Tower Bridge, Twinings Tea, shortbread, scones & clotted cream, Take That... Only the Queens bust has to stay within the coin album good reply! I might just draw the line at Take That, though!
  10. Out the dealer Might we see the images that sold the coins in the first place, before we hang the dealer?
  11. And there's me thinking that the English were the German favourites? I say this with smiles, having step nephews and nieces, and attending 2 German weddings!
  12. The city of York is an amazing place for a visit!

Not my area, but the quality of it would suggest some fun kind of museum souvenir or similar?
  14. I suppose a poop deck could be a corrected flush deck? I don't know, I'm meek on the issue, knowing only the surface info. on it all! Just tossing ideas into the pot. On account of such variation, it doesn't seem inconceivable that a lot of the variations are based on repairs?
  15. That would be my first thought, that they probably had to 'dig' a fair old bit of metal from the ships each time they used them?
  16. In a roundabout way, so was I! Are you saying you've never seen nor met any Fockers in your life? There's plenty around!
  17. Unless they are meant to be dorniers and messersmitts, or something? Possibly meaning to represent the few against the many???? Who knows, it's rubbish, regardless! Apologies to our German friends for my German spelling! Edit: should have gone with ME109s
  18. Indeed! Not a Lancaster or spitfire to be seen! There's a passable hurricane, if you squint (a lot), but that's all!Edit: I guess they are spits on the ground, I was focussing on the in-flight 'aircraft'!
  19. I think you might be preaching to the converted? Edit: sorry, forgot the...?
  20. Sadly, you make a very good point, Damian!
  21. I've been collecting the decimals!
  22. I'd say the best part of half a grade up myself!
  23. However, if they've moved the goalposts on grade, their values measured against the values of recent years is now pointless?
  24. Altered date, if I remember correctly?
