  1. I do hope that was sarcasm!
  2. You don't even know you posted in it? You have replied to topics in it, you even said you liked it!
  3. God that's so typically French!
  4. I've already fixed it - can't you see it?
  5. Ah I couldn't remember the denominations I just thought "Franc - centime!"
  6. Many people have these - it's a Swiss coin. I don't know who the woman is but I think she could be like our Britannia - a symbol, but then again, i'm not certain. The 10 in the middle is the denomination (obviously) and it means 10 centimes, as the Swiss currency was then, and is still, the Swiss Franc.
  7. I'd grade that at VF. Can we move this topic to another area as it would benefit the guests too?
  8. Yes I fiddled about with the brightness on my PC but I decided it made the two centre ones (George I and George III) a bit pale. The lettering is a bit dark however so I'll play with that. Thanks anyway!
  9. Place a limit on the sig sizes - say 30kb
  10. Hold on - isn't that the De Beers Diamond company advert?
  11. Heh hey! It's done it! Thanks a lot, Chris!
  12. I haven't done any HTML editing. I just designed the sig (it's a jpeg) and uploaded it to an image hosting site...
  13. How do you mean copy the finished text? It's only 11.7kb so not too large.
  14. Sorry to drag this up again but on some other message boards, they have pictures in their sigs. So I designed a pretty snazzy one this afternoon and got some image hosting but I can't get it to work in my signature line. I've tried inputting the URL then using the image tags but to no avail. Any help would be much appreciated!
  15. He didn't apy, he told us how he did it a while ago. He basically said, instead of paying tons to be advertised all over, he read up on this sort of thing and managed to get predecimal to the top. Don't ask me how, it's too complicated for me!
  16. He's credited the author for his work therefore there's nothing wrong with it.
  17. It's not even edited though. Never mind
  18. We could have just googled that
  19. I think it will have been in the 18th century as that is the time when they stopped washing the feet of the poor. Not many monarch actually washed the feet personally; it was usually the Bishop of London. The last monarch to actually wash the feet was James II.
  20. Links to our various topics: Man welds Churchill to bike Is the Churchill crown the ugliest coin?
  21. Whoa ho you've opened a real can of worms here! Most numismatists (us) agree that it is a vile coin as one will ever see. How much did you buy it for btw? It isn't worth anything at all, unless in mint condition, where then it is only worth a couple of pounds. A man welded one to his bike the other day, theres some pics in another topic.
  22. As long as they aren't actively purporting to be something which they're not, it's ok. The coins my Dad got me obviously weren't trying to deceive as they only cost a couple of quid.
  23. What do you hate about American grading? The fact that it's American? It is extremely accurate and would be more logical to grade the American way for the sake of clarity. Having a numbered system allows one to grade really well.
  24. Aargh these grades mean absolutely NOTHING! Stick to standardised grading, and don't make them up, they're just confusing. If you want to be really accurate, switch to the American grading system.
