  1. Great website very informative. A truly spectacular coin.
  2. BTW Hussulo, that 1687 is a 1/2d - though they do have some top farthings in that sale. Teg
  3. No problem Dave. You must have quite a formidable collection of farthings.
  4. Only a 1684 James II to go, you say Dave. I have found a James II 1687 ,or do you already have it? : http://cngcoins.com/Bid.aspx?ITEM_ID=97778
  5. Great coin Scottishmoney. 'They have a lot of nice coins for auction. I have always fancied a Noble. This one would be great, but again it's out my currrent budget! P.s. how do you post your picture?. My ones always come up small with a message saying Attached thumbnail(s)?
  6. I believe detectorists are an asset to the hobby. I'd much rather coins were dug up to be appreciated then remain buried wasting away somewhere. I also know it is important for finds to be documented and reported for future archeological reference.

  12. Does anyone have a 1903 open 3 penny? could you post pictures of it if you have? I am sure this topic was discussed before but I can't seem to find where, when I search back in the archives.
  13. Hi, Does anyone have a picture of a "low tide" penny and halfpenny that I can use for my website?
  14. Wow no bidders that's odd! For that price I bet there was only a handfull made!
  15. I was speaking to a local dealer at an antiques fair a couple of months back and along the conversation somewhere he happened to mention he has a friend who regularly buys from Baldwin’s (I think he said). The gentleman who as far as I gathered doesn’t live in London, but he uses Baldwin’s to keep his bought coins in a safe. So he buys coins from them and they store them for him (probably for a small surcharge), anyway I find this a little odd. Storing your coins far from home. I would like to have access to my coins to look at them when I choose. There are coins I haven't seen for a couple of months but I know I could if I wanted to by nipping down to my local bank. I would love to have a secure walk in safe in my house, now that would be great!
  16. I managed to pick off and use the "S" thanks again Derek, now I just need the other mintmarks (ie. on the ground George & dragon etc.) and the Sovereign section will be complete.

  22. Reading the two page spread "spotlight" article in this months coin news "When a coin is recived it is examined by the atributer, Alex Anderson, a coin collector of 36 years experiance. He assesses whether it is genuine or not by weighing the peice and consulting an extensive library of known forgeries." then " two fully trained graders will independantly grade the coin". Anybody know Alex Anderson?
  23. In the latest eddition of Coin News the editor seems to be firmly behind them. Mind you they do seem to have taken a lot of advertising space in the magazine.
  24. The seller says "I AM NOT SURE EXACTLY HOW FEW OF THESE WERE MADE BUT I WOULD HAZZARD TO SAY THERE WERE LESS THEN A HANDFUL" what kind of handfull is that? maybe a 20 foot tall gaint's handfull?
