Hello Gary & Bob, Here is even more evidence that this is a 6+F !!!!! Take a look at the die crack above R in REG. Well done Bob, this will sit nicely with your 14+N !

I've changed my mind Bob, I now believe that it's Obv 6 with rev F. The "O" of HONI SO does appear to show more of the "O" than obverse 4 These varieties are very difficult to identify in lower grades.

You are probably correct about the colon dots (my halfpennies are a lot smaller than the one pictured😂)

How do you explain the wide colon dots after F:D:

Obverse 13* and 13#, the same, just stating that it differs from 13. Obverse 13 has 133 border teeth, 13#/* has 132 teeth

It looks like a 13*, let's see the reverse ! is it J, K* or L ?

It does appear to be obverse 14, see if you can count the border teeth, 152 teeth for 14 and 149 for 15. Well done, brilliant find !

I would say that it is possibly a reverse F. The deep cut fabric hanging down to the left of Britannia's foot, looks very much like reverse F. The picture is crap unfortunately. I don't think that I would have risked £300 on it though ! I and ten other bidders bid for what appeared to be an 1862 8/6 a few years ago. I won it for £288. It turned out to be a stain on the coin !

If you stare at the space below the two eights long enough I do see a boxlike section. Could be my imagination !

There was no record of the workman coll. Freeman 169 being from the Freeman collection but I think it highly likely it was. This coin was probably the finest coin available when it was obtained for the workman collection. I have attached a different picture of the workman collection coin.

I thought that I would share my three tales of woe. Firstly I was the successful winner of an extremely rare halfpenny on Ebay. I paid for the coin with Paypal. The next day Ebay informed me that my $910 had been returned to my account, with the reason, "out of stock or damaged". I contacted the seller directly and he informed me that a colleague entered the coin on Ebay in error and that he no longer owned the coin. Next was a Venetian rare coin auctioned on a Polish auction site. This auction was conducted in up to two stages, pre auction bidding leading to live bidding. I made many pre auction bids, each bid resulting to being "you are outbid" My last bid of 3000 zlotys returned that I was the highest bidder and an email was sent to me stating that my offer would be entered into the live bidding. I watched the live bidding of the coin, ready to continue bidding if necessary. The coin sold for 3000 zlotys. Four days later I hadn't receive an invoice, so I contacted the auction site. They later informed me that I was outbid. I contacted them again, showing them their email confirming that my bid would be entered into the live auction. They then informed me that another bidder had entered a bid of 3000 earlier the same day as my bid. Next misfortune was winning a low grade halfpenny on Ebay. The picture was not brilliant but it appeared to be a Freeman obverse 6. On receiving the coin it was clearly obverse 7, a lower leaf of the third group clearly visible on the coin. I have mentioned this because digital pictures can be very misleading, especially border teeth alignment with letters or colons in the legend. I have attached two pictures of this halfpenny, one from ebay and one that I have scanned of the coin.

Does look like a G, pictures of the coin Obv & Rev could give your coin more weight. (no pun intended)

All examples of 2+C that I have seen have the die crack evidence, through "A" of "VICTORIA"
