  1. How about one penny ????????????
  2. You're priceless Richard! 😃
  3. Are you calling ME a moron Richard! LOL 😂🤣 PS. Thought to be the only existing example.
  4. I believe that the different weight coins were produced to test the dies on different width flans. Paul Holland has investigated this , Apparently the weight of the individual new flans was to equate to how many coins could be struck to the weight of one pound. If my memory serves me correct, one particular weight of flans worked out to 30 coins per pound.
  5. Auction details of collection, starting at page 11, lot 186 online. Sovereign Rarities
  6. It would be more frustrating if a die 7 turned up!!🤣
  7. I agree, but my own patience to have a collection is short! can't wait forever.
  8. Problem is, those "occasions" can be very rare.
  9. The Freeman 32 was unsold in the Sovereign Rarities Auction. There is a member of this forum who has a coin that I would like. I believe that he will be definitely aware of which coin this is. would you consider an exchange for my Fr32 penny? Contact me please by forum messaging if you are interested. I will hold the penny for a week for you to consider this offer.
  10. I agree Richard. Hopefully the five pennies that you mention go to penny collectors on this forum! Overall I am very pleased with the total. Shame the 1954 didn't sell like Del Boys Watch!
  11. It's either an A/A or R/R, two different die pairs. This appears to be R/R
  12. Yes, and also Lot 210, not Freeman 38 but should read Fr39A
  13. I have downloaded the program but can't work out how to get picture size to 499Kb. Please guide step by step procedure. I tried setting resize to 0.499Mb but picture reduces to 57Kb.
  14. If there are 50 examples, it still makes it much rarer than a 1930 Australian one penny, look what they sell for!
  15. I believe the first print was 1736. Don't know whether it was as comprehensive.
  16. I have placed a reference book of gold & silver coins 1066-1736, on Ebay, of which displays many pattern coins that I didn't know even existed. The book was issued in 1763 and is in my opinion, quite good condition for its age. Item id 145759903017
  17. Freeman 274, obverse 5 Reverse E
  18. I could be wrong but the brown one appears to me as obverse 4 and the other obverse 6
  19. Haven't seen this error before, good finds! I suspect that these two coins maybe from different dies. One picture indicates the leg of R loop is inline with the serif of the I. the other coin, the loop of the R points above the serif of the I. This may be just an illusion that sometimes happens with digital photography, but full pictures of each obverse may confirm this one way or the other.
  20. I agree, many years since I've seen one for sale on Ebay. As like waiting for a bus and two turn up together!
  21. When watching live auctions it pays to "Refresh" your browser regularly, especially if you have been watching on and off for hours. You could be watching what appears to be the live auction but in fact is a cached view. It appears, that if you loose wi-fi for any period of time, it will resume where you left off. A couple of weeks ago I had a live auction running on one tab for about 8 hours, I was looking at other things on other tabs, occasionally going back to the tab with the auction site running "live". At about 9.30 pm the auction was up to about lot 550 and I watched it sell and go on to next lot. The lot that I was interested in was about lot 1250. At 10pm I checked again and to my dismay the auction had concluded, all 1300 lots had been auctioned. My only explanation is that I had been watching a Cached view of the auction that appeared in every way to have been "Live". If anyone else has an idea what happened here, please comment. (excluding that I must be going do-lally)
  22. This request for help has now been investigated and concluded thanks to DaveG38
