  3. Just got am email back from the mont... Said that they would do some research and try to get back to me within a weeks time.... Will keep you all posted....
  4. If you can find one with the W replaced by a C, P or S, then your answer lies near your feet. Just inform us BCC what is the reply of tne mint. W weight C, coin cents P penny pence S shilling, star, sol, sun? L ladies lad men Libra unit of weight. Just a comment. Just got am email back from the mont... Said that they would do some research and try to get back to me within a weeks time.... Will keep you all posted....
  5. Hi Gary, got that one unfortunatly its not exactly square to the camera and if you do have a pic of the one you sold then that too will be useful. Hi Gary, I have emailed you the images of the coin that I sold.... It's dark, but it's all I have..... I will try to take a better image of the specimen in my collection later today.... Regards, Gary
  6. Got the first one Azda, thanks for that. Already done that Gary plus loads of other Dealer sites. Got a folder full of pics for comparision but so far only 4 examples of "I" to Tooth, including mine. I suspect you have at least one example, would you mind sending a pic over? Cheers. Mine is in the original thread.... When I get home I will send you the original..... I'll look to see if I also have the one that I sold.....
  7. Link to image of 1911 on Michael Gouby's Website... an excellent source for coins and information.... I heartily recommend his guide to pennies....
  8. I have several specimens with a weak H, and 2 or 3 that supposedly have no H... But I am not convinced with ANY of them that there was NEVER an H present..... All display (to me anyway) some signs of it having been there at one time or another.... The possibility exists, as has been suggested before, that the NO H variety is a result of a filled die..... much as the rare so called 1922 plain US cent .. and thst faint signs of its presence display itself.... As a result of the H being weaker, it would wear down faster leaving the impression that there was no H on the coin despite the rest of the coin being well preserved.... I have not yet seen a convincing specimen with NO trace of a H ever being present.....
  9. For what it is worth, I emailed the Royal mint with images... Maybe I'll get my answer from them.....
  10. It could be anything its a reverse die it might come from master die or anything else. The wieght is more than 5 farthing, 39.9-40/24 It could be anything, just worth a try. http://www.convert-me.com/en/convert/weight Just posting. Interesting thought..... Anyway, I emailed the Royal mint with images... Maybe I'll get my answer from them.....
  11. I think... F103 with OBV 9 has only 7 border teeth between the colon after the D and the colon after the G (including the teeth directly above the colons), yours has 8 which suggests OBV 11? That too....
  12. I'm not near my computer at home with my images... But it is NOT at F-103.... The ribbon does NOT flair out at the back as it should on the rarer obverse...
  13. Still looking for information on the royal mint token posted in another thread
  14. Thanks Rob... That's my point... There does not appear to be any reason for its existence except as a product of idle time.... Probably made MANY years ago, but I can't think of a reason why it might be from the mint.... Which is why I was looking for suggestions why it might possibly be from the mint.....
  15. I wouldn't even know where to begin..... With just the basic 5 obverses (not counting the rare obverse 4 central cut fishtail) and the 3 reverses, there are 13 known basic die combinations (not counting the rarer sub-varieties) each of which have several different date widths (I won't even get into minor die variants on the obverse from the use of known different dies of the same type).. Bernie is the expert on the subtle nuances of the known variants....
  16. I've found the F-69 to be the more common of the reverse I's.... I've had only 2 F-76's.. the Freeman example and the specimen that I currently have..... I've sold 3 or 4 F-69's, have one in my collection, and have seen 3 or 4 others sold on ebay (one just this past week- not the one I sold, this was just listed as an 1874-H ).... These totals do not include specimens already in other collections or sold elsewhere.... So I would probably guess at least 15-18 F-69's known at a minimum....
  17. Obverse 6, Reverse D F-29
  18. It's 6 + H. Still scarce and worth quite a bit in that condition. Correct... 6 & H
  19. Am looking for ideas or information or suggestions, that might indicate that this is NOT a post mint brockage type item.... It is dated 1879 and weighs 15.8 grams....
  20. Hello All, My turn to ask for help on two items.... First is a item slightly larger that a bronze penny, weighs 11.6 grams... Image attached
  21. h***i's bid, with one second to spare, has to have been a previously laid snipe. He couldn't possibly have had time to make a manual over bid with just 3 seconds to spare. Bet he's cursing that other late very high bid edit: Well done New specimen now in my collection, previous specimen now on ebay.... (along with some other rarities and scarcities), including an F-8 Mule,
