  1. Happy Birthday Master JMD for tomorrow!
  2. Welcome jimmy! What coins do you collect?
  3. Has anyone on here ever been to Center Parcs at Oasis Whinfell? Sorry for this off-topic question but I'll be going there tomorrow for a week!
  4. Thats exactly why I like the young head shilings! When my date run is done and dusted I will move onto them!
  5. I thought they only made a proof groat for vickys first year.........what a beautiful coin!
  6. I have only found two websites with high grade british coins, that one and north-east numismatics. Although this one beats them all!
  7. Look at this remarkable collection: My Webpage I love the story of the coins, they are wonderfull coins, I love the PR68 halfpenny-right up my street!
  8. If you just want the values Sylvester, just buy a copy of coin yearbook because that is where they get the values from.........or better still buy a copy of CC2004
  9. Looks like you have done it.
  10. I think this was discussed in a thread yonks ago..........I don't mind them but the artists just waste coins.....oops I've done it now here comes the debate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. I've thought of another one..........we all collect milled and you do the opposite and collect hammered.
  12. Yes the bare head did Sylvester. I would not have to worry about putting it in a cabinet because I would not be able to get one for at least 20 years or so.........If I still had my cabinet then I guess I would be forced to slab and grade it (I know what you are all thinking, I would hate slabbing and grading normally but I think that it will be commonplace in 20 years time).
  13. I would only buy an 1826 £5 if it was in FDC like the one in Spink because I just would not enjoy having one with an edge bruise or a bag mark. It would be like a ruined piece of art.
  14. I saw that, its typical of many ebay sellers. The only time when people like that grade their coins right is when they describe them as "very good" because that is all they usually are.
  15. Look at this: My Webpage If I had £30,000-£40,000 I would certainly buy it! It's the first one I've ever seen on the market.
  16. To answer Oli's question: It wasn't that sort of question.....they always set either a crossword or a picture question. This month you had to tell the difference between two coins. The closing date for these competitions is about three months after the issue comes out. To answer Sylvesters question: They are doing half guineas this month, guineas are next month.
  17. Making a set of your own could be much cheaper than buying one but make sure that all of the coins have matching toning.
  18. They make William Wyon turn in his grave!
  19. I have just posted my entry, it took me about 2 minutes to figure out the answer! This month's one was easy!
  20. If I didn't collect halfpennies, I would collect Vicky YH shillings, I might even start to collect them as well as halfpennies, they are wonderful and have massive eye-appeal!
  21. You should, it covers almost every section of numismatics. Chris' advert is also in there!
  22. Last month they did £5 and £2 pieces and this month they are doing guinea fractions.
  23. If you got verdigris quite easily, I suggest that you should think about collecting silver......victorian shillings are very nice!
  24. Are you entering the competition to win a 1974 sovereign then William?
  25. Also, queen anne always had the date at the top of the reverse, all except the farthing which had the date in the exergue.
