Perhaps also certain sellers may not want people to see how much (or how little!) they'd bought a coin for, that they are now selling. I buy and sell on the same account, I might add, and my listings aren't private!

Very true, '49! I am constantly struggling to find decent stuff on there these days. I like to stock up on commonish (not dirt common) 20th century stuf in high grade and I'm now finding myself forced back into the 40s, 50s and even 60s. Either that or drop my standards on grade, which I can't do. I'd much rather have nice common coins than older duffers.

That's an excellent idea. I did try to do something similar with Google Custom Searches, but it doesn't work exactly like I'd hoped. I wanted to search for a specific coin across a list of dealers websites. It'd be great if someone could do that, and I can't believe I'm the only one who'd like to be able to do it.

...and of course the Open 9 and closed 9 variants of the normal 3 coins. Your Normal 3 is very different to mine, Tony, but the 9s are the same, so no link between the different Normal 3s and the different 9s. Quick survey of Normal 3 pennies required I think...

photos as good as you can, closely cropped, correctly aligned, and show both sides. That's what most people get wrong, so do all that, and yours will stand out. Coppers is right, start everything at 99p and choose your time of day wisely and you might be surprised.

with eBay search in such a pickle it's an excellent time to be shopping! Bargains a-plenty. Not such a good time to be trying to flog stuff though...

I've got one of those - just the job!

Confirmed: 300 chr absolute limit on query length, but 100 between brackets. so, use 3 sets of brackets, with <100 in each, then you can get round the 100 chr limit. I use one set of brackets for dates, once for denoms, and one for words, like this -(1967,1972,1977,1981,2012) -(20p,50p,£1,£2,£5) -(commemorative,cover,decimal,Diana,doubles,festival,jersey,gold,man,mother,pounds,proof,token) then you can go up to 300.
