  1. it's a green corrugated steel village hall in Worcestershire we've bought to live in......if we survive the madness! My favourite blue plaque says: "Dr. Heisenberg might have lived here."
  2. Oh....I used to know this......
  3. Did that last week- put the metalwork in the car park. Hopefully gone now!! Not going through the pain of putting another one up, since we uncovered a lovely roof and a lovely proscenium arch that's WW1 vintage: Before: After:
  4. Phoned up EMR today- nice lady in Southampton depot doing the answering- she said that you take copper coins,( or cuni, for that matter, ) and they bung 'em under the tester...... (oh- also, split your ally up into cast, extruded or rolled- clean extruded has shot up, for some reason.....)
  5. What??? How bizarre - I use the one in Bedford, and they are used to them, and put them in 'heavy copper'.......
  6. An excellent assessment.
  7. Not sure whether I've posted this before, but it's entertaining trying to imagine where the dots should go that represent friends, family, and acquaintances ......:-)
  8. I'm going to the cinema this week, apparently. I've been invited to a bowel cancer screening. Not sure what it's about....
  9. I think there are more important things to worry about- so Crimea river....
  10. I wish I could reply, but I find the whole arcane process of masters and dies and negatives and positives utterly bamboozling, along with things like some letters etc double struck, which is then explained by die movement, when obviously everything would be double, not just one bit.... Don't get me started on why only the waves disappear when dies get filled, not any other areas...that's just mad to me....
  11. Be careful to not overload the Hive Brain that is 'Predecimal' , Rob, with too many linked questions. This forum was the inspiration for the Borg in Star Trek, after all....
  12. I had this slip fall out of a box containing a neck light- like a torc with leds in the ends for reading at night.... I have no idea what it means, or why it is credited to Shakespeare... I have already emailed the company and basically told them they are twats....
  13. I'm a picker I'm a grinner I'm a lover And I'm a sinner I play my music in the sun Welcome to the Forums!
  14. I email pictures to me - after choosing what size I want - the only easy non-techy way I've found that works!
  15. ...if you aren't ripped off by the refiners....what a mine field. last time, a bag of old phone pcbs and 4 kg of tantalum capacitors was not refined as "not economic". Didn't return it...just lost it......played my face big time so everyone involved know they were taking the p**s.... The big bag of gold connector pins came out at .39% AU by weight, so got £600......
  16. ...no, in a small plastic tray.
  17. I'm in the doghouse now....
  18. OMG I made up 'Paracrufts' about ten years ago, and I've just found out that it bloody exists!!!!!!! There was an episode of Alan Partridge where he tries to pitch new programme ideas to the channel controller, all increasingly desperate, and one of them was 'Youth Hostelling with Chris Eubank', which, bizarrely, years later, was actually made!!!!
  19. Crufts is back on TV again, and I never watched it before because of the antics of some of the awful dog breeders, and I won't watch it this time. I might wait a couple of weeks and watch Paracrufts......
  20. Jerry, I think the world situation has changed somewhat from what it was when I started this thread.....
  21. ˙ou 'ʎɹɹos
  22. I just watched Roberta Metsola addressing an emergency session of the European Parliament, and the contrast between her and Liz Truss is absolutely astonishing and embarrassing.
  23. Just been looking up the Rain Bomb that Brisbane got....Christ - 8 dead already.....
