  1. Was that flying bicycle thing in Supergran actually real? I mean, how easy is it to build a human powered flying machine....One where can I get one!?
  2. I'd say it looks Thai, Burmese or Cambodian, or something around that way.
  3. The whole bloody city is always overrun with fat Americans and really over zealous Japanese people, so it probably won't even notice! I'll have to make sure my house is free in 2012 so I can rent it out for 3x normal rent money, as it's only 1hr from central London by train.
  4. I think that's probably just visible to you. I had to enter an MSN id, and then it didn't work.
  5. Hey Geordie, you're like, well old! Happy Birthday. (This forum is becoming basically a peoples Birthday forum at the moment)
  6. Are you sure it's really uncirculated? Most people that I know who can tell a coin is truly uncirculated know that the WW refers to the William Wyon initials on the Queens neck. Post a picture. (and please, keep related posts in this one area)
  7. Well it was alright if you like that kind of thing. Just between you and I though, I think I would rather have been in a British pub with a choice selection of chums Lets hear it for pubs and British chums! (I'm no drinker, I just like to be around friends in that kind ot atmosphere)
  8. Finland seems ok now, Pennias before Markka. France KM902.2 has a large C or a small c listed. France KM888b.1 lists now include 1948-50 and 1952. Italy KM188 is still $65 (what should it be?) I've got the 3rd edition 1801-1900 edition, is that the latest?
  9. Yeah it looks a bit mucky to me, and the fields aren't at all prooflike.
  10. So far Worldpay have informed me that they will be refunding some fees that they took in commision after a Nigerian attempted to spend about £10,000 on Coin books! Rightly so I thought, and I had to threaten turning them off and going to the press, but it was nice to know I'll get some money back on my birthday! I remember on my 21st Birthday I got a cheque for £500 from my insurance company that was completely unexpected, as a payment for the inconvenience of my Spitfire being written off! I'd received the payment in full for the car some weeks prior, so that was a nice surprise. And yesterday, the TR7 sailed through its MOT, so that was also good. Although, I will be having it renovated to a presentable standard, and that won't be cheap in the long run! We'll have a barbeque tonight.
  11. Thankyou thankyou, you're too kind.
  12. I've got the 2006 edition (33rd). So far I find it fine, but I haven't really used it all that much yet. What were the problems you had and I'll try to see if they apply to the 33rd?
  13. I'd better get my finger out and get CCGB2006 completed. I have started, but am slightly more relaxed this year because it already exists in digital form and should (hopefully) just need a whizz through updating prices and adding information here and there. Can forum members please remember to put details of prices paid for coins in the Rotographic price collection database. That would be a big help. I want to expand the decimal section too, so Syl if you get a mo, could you write me something brief about the modern decimal varieties, and if you like perhaps even some kind or rarity scale for them and even the normal dates. I'd also be interested to hear from people about what types of coins they think have gone up in price over the last year. I think perhaps a lot of values will stay the same, certainly for lower grades....So what prices have you gasped at, that you noticed were much dearer than last year? Everyone will get a free one as usual, and hopefully it'll be plain sailing compared to last year.
  14. I think the seller is definitely a kid Geoff, one of the coins is from 1989 and dates before the seller was born, so they are probably about 15 or less. I can't remember your wallpaper at all, you'll probably be pleased to know!
  15. I can vouch for footandankle, he's as honest as the day is long, and no doubt wants to experiment. He's definitely a collector, not a dealer.
  16. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...8314494840&rd=1 Look at this, what a bargain for a selection of coins from when people spoke Latin!!
  17. They're not cheap these days, I think I remember getting £150 for a 1st edition.
  18. Don't forget the peck numbers for most copper coins are in CCGB2005....I don't have a spare Peck though, I'm afraid.
  19. We used to go into town every lunch time from about the age of 13 onwards. We really were not supposed to, but there were ample gaps in the fences to allow us to sneak in and out un-noticed. Ah, those were the days. Jumpers for goalposts.
  20. Why do they have to make every subject so moral, why can't history just be about facts....This happened at this time, something else at this time. I think that kind of 'lets try to make you kids well rounded moral individuals' by telling you about all the very bad people and situations in the past really got on my @*@$ at school! They should have a separate subject to discuss the changing roll of women in the 20th c, and why people have wars etc etc. Social sciences or whatever, even philosophy. Geography was just as bad too, I wanted to know where all the countries were, and what their capitals were called, why mountains are where they are and how rivers form etc....In Geography we visited Peckham and then Biggin Hill to write down peoples number plate years to help us come to the 'surprise' conclusion that the people seemed better off in semi rural Biggin Hill than they were in suburban shit hole Peckham (no offence all you Peckham forumees)! I had actually realised long ago by myself that Del trotter lived in a poorer area than Winston Churchill! Teach the kids the names, dates and order of all the British kings and Queens from Celtic to now, teach them the capitals of all the world countries, don't bore then to sleep with all that moral social science poo.
  21. The stags had reliability problems, you should be fine with an auto 2000. Perhaps hairdressers do own a lot of MGF's, but that doesn't bother me in the slightest. I drive it on German roads knowing that it is 100% British, and there are very few people (mainly due to lack of choice!) that can even do that in the UK!
  22. Does anyone want a tax exempt low mileage 1972 burgundy big Triumph 2000 saloon? Had to ask.
  23. There is a chemical that will dissolve copper but won't touch steel, so I suspect thats what's happened. It could I suppose also be an error coin struck without being covered in copper....But there's no way that could be proven.
  24. I've just upgraded, anyone want a Krause world coin price guide from 2002 (30th edition)? It covers all coins issued in the world from 1901 - 2001. It's £20 plus postage, which will be £10 to any European address. Let me know, or it goes on ebay.
  25. I exchanged old 5p's and 10p's for new ones the other year. They'll also take predecimal 'Silver' coins but only by special arrangement, at certain branches and if you have a large amount (like £100 worth).
