  1. Ok, berg, well let me know how you get on. We'll find a way.
  2. No sign of him so far. I expect he is endeavoring to do those things set out in my first post!
  3. And Oli is 16!! You can smoke and have sex all day long today, in front of your parents, and there's nothing they can do about it!
  4. (boastfully in a very immature fashion) I do a BBC 3 Counties phone-in on coins for up to 2 hours every month, broadcast from Luton.
  5. Yes, of course you can use a credit card. Go here: http://www.predecimal.com/secure/paymentcustom.htm It links to Worldpay for the sensitive bits.
  6. Yes, I can imagine! Well then, I won't say a word.
  7. I think it's just a case of what most people find first. And once you're established with a few contacts it's difficult to change.
  8. Anything you like JMD, but you will probably have to save them to your webspace, in the event that I may delete/move them in the future.
  9. For some reason I find myself whistling the godfather theme while I write this! Erm, where are you located Don Camillo's godson?
  10. I was browsing around a little last night, I think I was looking at cars or something. I checked someones feedback and something they bought was a painting. I thought, that's interesting, so I browsed in the paintings, European 1900 to date section. Then I thought, I wonder if any of the coin designers ever did any paintings, I mean they were artists, I'm sure they could also draw/paint better than your average chav on the street. So within the art section I searched for 'Kruger' (after George Kruger Gray 1880-1943) and it returned no results in the art section. But! it returned a few 'kruger' results in other sections, and I spotted this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...item=6516962422 A document signed by Mr 'Krugerrand' himself. For some reason I've always had a slight interest in South African history, and this item has a coin link, and a strong South African history link! At first I though £110 (the opening bid) was a lot. I thought perhaps I'd wait and offer the seller £75 afer it finished unsuccessfully. But then, 16 seconds before it ended someone jumped in, leaving me no choice. I whacked £120 on the table with 3 seconds to go, and I got it for £113 something. It'll go nice with my silver contemporary Boer war coin set bought back by a Scotish soldier with an Afrikaans fire insurance document and a Boer war news cutting from a Scotish newspaper that I acquired.
  11. Well if it's as nice as the picture then that's ok.
  12. Of course you can. Use anything you like until you start competing with me
  13. Why don't you write it in word, do a spell check and then paste it into here! Or, ask another question on the Invision forum.
  14. Yes, I imagine it's very similar. Lets see if there are any replies then.
  15. That's a 1951 Crown, so it contains no silver.
  16. Yes, I had suspected that was the case.
  17. I see what you mean. I think that would probably be complicated. If anyone has time, why don't you check out the Invision Power board web site, and see if there is a mod that does that.
  18. Ebay is not always the answer! I have plenty of proper Nazi German coins (being actually in Germany). Here is a list I posted previously in another area of the forum: http://www.predecimal.com/forum/index.php?...=ST&f=19&t=1173
  19. You shouldn't go paying much attention to young JMD's spelling
  20. If gothic florins were still made, and readily available, I wouldn't be surprised to see them in a petrol station! Petrol stations have sold coins, I'm sure of that. Ridiculous Harry Potter items and the like.
  21. Ok Berg, Email me and I can give you either a British or German bank details. cp@predecimal.com
  22. I seem to remember about 3 times when I've noticed it, so there may well have been more. I don't look on ebay for coins that much. These days, everyone can sell anything directly can't they, and in a way that's a pity for all specialist trades because it makes it a little more difficult for them to acquire odd little items. Thankfully people generally can't be bothered to catalogue and identify whole collections for ebay, and there are some that don't bother, so the future is still rosy for coin dealers! I mean 50 year ago if you wanted a shirt, you'd go to a tailor. Now you can get one on ebay....Come to think of it, you can get one in a Supermarket or even a petrol station too! In fact everywhere you go you get bombarded with things you didn't really go there for! I digress.
  23. Yes, they get them from the same people that Amazon.co.uk get them from. They are a stock item and should be in every Ottakars branch. I was quite pleased with that. I managed to get the email address of a lovely helpful lady at Ottakars, who was, with slight persuasion, able to get the man responsible to make them a stock item!
  24. Euro is fine, but it would probably have to be cash sent to a German address. Which is usually fine.
  25. They are sent from Germany and it's either EUR2.00 via land, or EUR3.50 via airmail. Email me if you want one. You can also download it as a PDF, which I'll do for the same price as the printed version (but with no postage of course). cp@predecimal.com
