  1. Nice. Should I ever take up watch wearing again this would be the kind of thing. Classic, understated, aesthetically pleasing.

  2. Over the last few months I have been recording my collection. Shortly before leaving my previous employer I had put my entire collection under the inspection microscope and photographed them. Although the resolutuion is great the end results have been mixed in that the colours have come out understated and many of the proofs show a flat field where it should be mirrored. Another problem has been that some coins have taken a purple ting which I believe is a fault on the file saving process. Anyway I was made redundent so I'm unable to repeat any of the picture. Anyway for what it's worth here it is. https://onedrive.live.com/?id=943941AD323D5647!135&cid=943941AD323D5647

  4. Verdi care....before & after. Sorry about the picture quality it was just to record the results.

  6. Verdi care is the stuff you want. Quite expensive If you research it there are many before and after examples.

  7. Couldn't agree more Rob. This past year we've bought a Wei Dynasty brick shrine (C3rd AD), a Red Figure Pelike (C3rd BC), an Anatolian ceramic bull (C24th-21st BC), and a European bronze pilgrim badge (C15th AD). Each gives me pleasure every time I look at them.

  8. Don't wear watches, don't know anyone who does. These modern bells and whistles things are so ugly, a bit like being shouted at by someone's wrist.

  9. I bought it from London Coins some years ago. Not cheap but I think it must have been a quiet day. I paid just over £1200, would be nice to think it has gone up a bit since. If I recall I was the only bidder and had to up my bid to make the reserve.

  12. Looks extremely dubious. Wouldn't touch it with a 9-carat bargepole.

  14. I'm slowly building a more general Collectors Reference on my website. It isn't intended to be as detailed as the more specialised sites mentioned, but it does go to the level of Freeman and Davies. I've done 1911-1967 so far, and will get around to E7 soon I hope, and eventually it'll go even further back. Here's the George V shilling page, for instance. http://www.declanmageecoins.co.uk/G5S.html
