The scratches/digs will affect its appeal to others so, consequently, the value, unfortunately!Marks don't really affect grade, at least not in the true sense, though grading companies include such things in their numeric assessment, and subsequently grade the coin having included them! You could take a coin straight from the press with a hole dug in the queen's cheek by the unfortunate fall of another coin...technically and correctly called UNC, however, CGS won't see it that way!
