Dear all,

Just wanting to introduce myself and say hello. Have just joined the forum, and looking forward to meeting you all.

I used to be a member on here a fair few years ago when a teenager as 'Coins4u'.

Enjoyed seeing all the conversations going on back then and thought I'd reincarnate myself.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Cheers,

Tim

Welcome back Tim

I do love Dorset

Have you a preference in coins?

Keep posting as we all learn. :)

Thanks Peter and Coinery!

My preference is late hammered to c.1820. Although American and foreign generally has grown on me.

Dorset is stunning, funnily enough Peter I only moved from your neck of the woods down here about 8 months ago. I used to run a coin auction there for 2/3 years.

How about you gents? Your coin preferences?

I love early copper but have more or less turned to type collecting including hammered and foreign.

Early French,Irish,Scottish and US are also in my radar.

That sounds good! Well hopefully I will be able to find you some things in one of my auctions in the future!

Thanks for making me welcome, appreciate it.

Have a good Sunday

Hi Tom thanks! I used to have a few, long gone now. Great area to collect! How are you getting along finding nice examples at the mo?

Actually, it's a struggle. There are plenty of dire coins. However those I consider to be better examples are very thin on the ground. People are either holding on to them, or they sell for considerably more than they would have done a year or two back ...

..of course, it may just be I'm getting too fussy in my old age!

Welcome back Tim. My preference is also for late hammered and early milled (English, mainly silver). Looking forward to seeing some pics :)

I have noticed that too, hard to find the good stuff! My taste had changed too, so I think as every year goes by we become more picky!
