copper123 Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Indeed prob about 3/4 of all 1775 halfpennies are forgeries , but most are made in england and most circulated in the uk (that includes scotland and the whole of ireland. many are evasions with blundered legendsAll are collected though in really low grade they are worth very little Quote

Thanks Colin for a great site. It's developed into an authoritative website, the best reference site for the farthing! I'd like to see a reference work to go with it, Colin! It can't be far off, the legwork is done!G-numbers, perhaps? Edit: I say this with all due respect to CC, but I like CG's ongoing development. I don't think he should sit in the shadows of the unfinished works of the great farthing men...he should blossom and create/finish the work that he obviously knows about, and understands so well! Jordan0693 Posted January 1, 2015 Author Posted January 1, 2015 I don't know how to upload as I'm on my phone atm, so could email direct if that's any easier? Quote
Jordan0693 Posted January 3, 2015 Author Posted January 3, 2015 Were only the half penny counterfitted? Quote

The last 12 months have been fairly manic at work, and we have had a family illness that has demanded a lot of time and continues to do so. The first book is not too far away but every time I set a target something goes wrong!!! Edited January 3, 2015 by Colin G. Quote
Peter Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 JordonThe farthings 1771 - 75 were also heavily counterfitted especially 1775.Rooney I only go for decent cu. Quote
copper123 Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 farthings were copied - but to be honest halfpennies were the coin that were concentrated on by most forgers Quote
