PS: Spot the text error?

No. Enlighten me.

April issue. Answers by March 15th….

Not a typo at all - bear in mind that November's issue of MOJO will drop onto my doormat before the end of September :D 'Twas always thus. If you look at any January edition of Coin Monthly, it will be full of Xmas gift ideas.

As to the quiz, the only one I'm certain of is that A is Victoria

That's quite a list!

No Jones/Taylor era Stones?

Well, bits of Aftermath, more or less the whole of Beggars Banquet, most of Let It Bleed, the whole of Sticky Fingers, and bits of Exile On Main Street.. I was never a big Stones fan. :D

Dare I ask what your list would be? (Mine would be longer but I ran out of energy  )

So similar to your own as to be uncanny (apart from Yes) which is why I asked about 1963-73 Rolling Stones. For me you'd have to add 1960s Trojan and Atlantic soul, plus heaps of opera and baroque stuff….

I agree about Atlantic and Stax soul (and Motown!!), Gram Parsons, Steve Earle (seen him twice :) ), Trojan and all roots reggae, baroque classical, early music, then Gershwin, Britten, Vaughn-Williams etc.

Early Yes is pretty good - anything before Rick Wakeman joined :D

We have to part company on opera - my pet hate. Except things like Carl Orff 'Carmina Burana', which I love :)

Oops!

I have most of the aforementioned on vinyl or shellac if they're old enough.

What's iTunes?

What's iTunes?

iTunes is a music shop run by those chappies at Apple (the computer company not the Beatles' record company..) who purvey digital (don't ask) music by many popular beat combos from the past to the present day. If you think of it as a great big HMV store in the sky you won't go far wrong. :D

Best not mention personal iTunes libraries. Vast music collections which can't been seen or touched. That might just confuse matters further…..

We're just pulling your leg Fubar ;)

Ah, but they can be heard. ;)

Just kidding.

Two kids growing to adulthood in the "Apple era" means that I have an idea of what iTunes is, unfortunately.

Screams of "Dad! Daaaad! I've lost all the music on my iPhone, (iPad, whatever)" means I got to be a bit of an expert in recovery. <_< or not. :(

Most of the music on my phone and/or computers, laptop,s etc., is digitised from original vinyl.

Can't beat the sound from an old valve amplifier.

LOL. You would have liked my Dad's old Quad stereo. Valve amp, Rotel deck and electrostatic speakers the size of radiators. Sadly I had no space for them so sold them on to a specialist...

Now? I listen to my metal off an SD card that plugs into the car sound system ... :P

Ah! The "benefits" of modern technology.

True. When Wifey drives she can listen to the Kooks and all that shizz and then when I get in I just switch cards and it's back to Lamb of God and the Prodigy!

Oddly, I feel a bit like a Luddite. As technology had advanced I've simplified.

Back in the day when I took photographs I had a decent SLR camera. Then we were burgled and we just got a point and shoot instead.

I used to lavish time and money on my stereo in the days of records. And albums were as much for the music as the artwork of the covers. Now .. I just listen to music via the internet. I think I have one downloaded track and that's John Cage's 4′33″!

Though CDs can be handy sometimes. Can't get an MP3 signed by the members of a band, can you?

I still have my old Ion Obelisk amp - yes, I know, it's solid state, but it was designed to reproduce the sound of a valve amplifier :) I have a strange feeling that in this digital age, valve amplifiers will survive .. just as vinyl has.

Funnily enough, the digital era has spawned a whole new set of new camera types : the "bridge", the superzoom P&S, mirrorless interchangeable lens systems, "enthusiast" compacts (like the Fuji X100 and the Lumix LX7).

You could always get the band to sign your memory stick :D

Richard, you're probably all the better for not knowing. I still mourn the demise of the 12 inch album and all the associated artwork. Speaking of which: I just took a look at your gallery. You have some nice things in there. I'm a full time professional illustrator, so can fully appreciate what you're doing. And, any cat fan is always ok in my book….. ;)
