Peter Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I always start with a Ricard and a dozen oysters. After my 5th course Mrs Peter rolls me home/back to the gite/hotel.I do like France...yes I have said it. Quote
jaggy Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Thanks Peter. Yeah I love the sixpence, my favourite so far! Ok so don't do acetone as default on the whole coin? And yes my adhesives arrived today, proper excited! I think you have a decent buy there. Now you absolutely have to get a 1787 without Hearts to complete the pair. It would be grossly unfair to the sixpence you do have to leave him orphaned. The good news is that they are quite common and should not be too expensive.Personally, I don't like Ebay and prefer to buy from reputable auction houses and/or reputable dealers (there are a couple on here). But that is just me. I never touch my coins with acetone or any other substance. I leave them 'as is' and they go in their Leuchterm tray where they can be admired at my leisure.Book prices are one guide. I also look at auction results to get an idea of what people have actually been paying. What you are willing to pay is a function of book price, previous auction results, your judgement as to how nice the coin is, how badly you want it and how much you can afford. Quote
Peter Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 There are some from a dealer/ebay/fair just don't hesitate.Your eye for what you want is all that matters. Quote
