post-5911-071678600 1364046402_thumb.jpgthe small 8 variety of the 1819 sixpence is catalogued in esc as the 8 being very small. looking at my 1819 the 8 does look smaller, but maybe its the right size but displaced.

How small is the 8? and do you think my coin is the regular 8 or not?

Interestingly your example looks like a regular 8 with a possible small 8 undercutting it.

thanks all.....seems like a regular 8 even if it is a little irregular as peck points out.

I will leave it catalogued as is for now.

Declan's got the smallest one! ;)

Edit: if the foot of Declan's first 1 was parallel with the rim, his 8 would look EVEN smaller!
