declanwmagee Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Well there's a load of design ideas in about 16 hours, Greg!To summarise:1) Home Page: an array of coin cabinets (have a look at the Peter Nichols selection to see what we mean by coin cabinet), each labelled with a denomination and linked to...2) A page for each denomination that looks suspiciously like this. Little virtual drawers for each group in the denomination cabinet. Groups might be Reign, or Portions of a reign, whatever best suits that denomination. Clicking on a drawer links to...3) The coins. We could break it down further: a page per year for instance, with all the varieties, proofs, patterns etc from each year, but I fear the more layers we have the more unwieldy and complex to navigate it gets. Three layers (cabinet, drawer, coins) seems like a nice simple structure and matches the reality of a coin cabinet - you don't have drawers within drawers, as a rule.Standard size and background from the start, I suggest. Adopting a standard once there's a lot of coins in it would be a pain.I'll volunteer to do the donkey work on the photos as they come in, for starters.What do you think, Greg? Think it's do-able?
