I bought this from the States a while back and just noticed the reverse when I photographed it for listing.

Most clashes tend to show the reverse in mirror on the obverse so I thought I would share this one.

Fascinating and rather ghostly in an almost sinister way! Interesting that it picked up her features but didn't pick up the top of her head in the equally empty field area to the top left of the trident.

very interesting, had you inspected the coin closely before photographing and not seen it? or was it a case that you hadnt given the coin much attention at all. im curious to know if it was the photo that highlighted it to you.

By the looks of it ski, it was when John took the photo. I've done the same a few times after taking a good picture and spotted something, the Charles II maundy 2d being one of those, i did'nt see an inverted C in hand, but after taking the picture it was more than noticable
