hi,

I recently had a item sent to Germany which was `lost` in transit .the buyer opened a case after three days!!! .I then was told by ebay to respond in german (as the case was opened in Germany)when i explained i cannot write/speak german ,i was told to buy translation software . ebay then refunded the buyer after 5 days without my consent .the buyer sent me at least 4 messages every day from puchase date ,was rude and when i complained i was told i had to put up with it as the buyer was frustrated!!! any protection for sellers is non-existent

If you sold the item through the UK site then why should you have to respond in German, it should be the Germans who would have to respond in English surely? Another thing is, 3 days to Germany from the UK for delivery is quite non existant, i should know, i live here and buy from there

I have often found the postage from Germany to be slower than the States, 10-14 days doesn't seem unusual. No tracking I assume.

Postage from the Vaterland is around 5 working days. 10/14 days would mean to me that it was'nt posted until 2/3 days after payment at least

unfortunatley ,no .I was told as i has sold the item internationally i have to respond on the ebay site it was sold on (in this case germany). As per usual the buyer chose non-tracked mail and then said i was ripping him off and i hadn`t sent the coin at all .item sold on a sunday, posted monday .then buyer opened case on friday as he said he needed it for a present on saturday.Asked why not choose tracked mail ,ignored the question.

the joys ,the joys !!!!

Well unfortunately you have been well and truly screwed. Next time, make sure you state that international Post costs extra and Must be insured with tracked postage, there's a Lot of this going on and so i send everything insured with Express delivery, if they don't like it they don't need to buy, simples.....

As a buyer that is my strongly preferred method of delivery. Certainly for anything over £50.

That way, both parties are protected.
