Hello,I am Aidan Work from New Zealand. Some of you may know me from other forums such as http://www.cointalk.org/index.php & http://www.coinpeople.com .

The British numismatists may have seen my article titled 'Chatham Islands numismatics',which appeared in the February 2006 edition of the 'Coin News'.That is what I am best known for regarding numismatics. If you have any questions to ask in relation to Chatham Islands numismatics, then ask me,as I am the authority on this subject.

My numismatic area of speciality is the British Commonwealth, which includes the Republic of Ireland, but not Palestine,Cameroon,or Mozambique.

I have been working part-time for a coin dealer here in Wellington since late 1997.Even when I was serving part-time as a constitutional ally to Sir Michael Hardie-Boys (Governor-General of New Zealand from 1996 until 2001),I was still very actively buying coins for my collection.

Now that I am semi-retired,I now own & operate a British Commonwealth Numismatic Forum, which can be found here; http://bcnumismaticforum.phpbbnow.com .

I have been a member of the following numismatic societies;

Royal Numismatic Society of New Zealand (1997 to 2005).

Wellington Coin Club (1997 to 2005).

Wanganui Numismatic Society (since 2000).

World Internet Numismatic Society (WINS # 303).

Postal Order Society (Great Britain) (since 2004).

I have been the Dominion of New Zealand's Overseas Representative for the Postal Order Society (Great Britain) since late 2005.

Welcome Aidan.

Your forum is good, but way too big with all those catagories on the opening page. It scared me off a little. Can you have simple categroies for the various countries and then 'child' catagories for the various subjects?

Just my opinion.

Crikey.

That forum is going to take some filling. :o

Welcome Aidan,

Nice website but I would have to agree with the other I felt it has got to many different sections. Therefore it will need many members to keep all the different sections busy, but I wish you all the best.

Welcome Aiden! I agree your website it rather overwhelming. A little simplification may attract more contributers. I'll be viewing it on a regular basis. Good luck withit! B)

I am learning a bit about forum administration,as it is a very new thing for me.The reason why I have divided the categories into 'Banknotes','Coins','Traders' Tokens',& 'Postal Orders' as well as by geographical region,is because there are British Commonwealth collectors who collect any one of these items alone,as well as by country.

It is not possible to create subforums with a forum that is in PHPBB format.Eventually, when the British Commonwealth Numismatic Project (which is at http://www.bcnumismaticproject.com ) is up & running,I will be getting an Invision Power Board installed like the one located here; http://www.coinpeople.com .Only then will I be able to create subdivisions within each country's listings.

The British Commonwealth Numismatic Project will be an online catalogue that would be more specialised than both Krause & Pick combined,as it won't just list KM,P,& PS numbers, but the dates that have been confirmed.

Aidan.
