Citizen H Posted March 30 Posted March 30 (edited) so finding this whilst sifting through the hoard and thought it worth a mention being that its in a good condition and ask for an opinion of its grade... however...! on closure inspection and magnifying the photo it looks like it was struck with a cracked die..... 👍 don't know about you ....its a real treat (for me) to find these faults...😁 Edited March 30 by Citizen H 1 Quote
Peckris 2 Posted March 31 Posted March 31 I'd be happy to rate that EF (perhaps AEF on the obverse, just a trace of extra wear on the hair?) 1 1 Quote

I'm not thinking it will be ever worth a kings ransom, but finding the odd gem as I go through these is a treat, Thankyou one and all👍 Quote

I’m 60 next year and been reflecting a lot upon the last 40, so maybe something to do with that? 1 Quote
Sword Posted April 1 Posted April 1 That's a fairly long die crack. I imagine the obverse die would be used for multiple years until it's too damaged. But the reverse die has the date and so needs to be replaced each year. 1 Quote
Citizen H Posted 47 minutes ago Author Posted 47 minutes ago Found another quite good condition coin from the hoard..... albeit 2 pence Maundy, George IIII, 1822, 😕 not sure I can cope with all of these good condition coins after a life time of manky worn out ones.... 😕 1 Quote
