When did this happen? you cant see it with the naked eye,... its unseen by me over all these years.... I seem to manage buy all of the unusual ones out there..... Coinery Posted January 26 Posted January 26 That may have been a love charm with a soldered loop just above Jack? Maybe this kind of thing? Quote
Sword Posted January 26 Posted January 26 It's plausible that the damage was done when crudely removing a soldered loop. I think the engraving of "JACK" actually makes the item more interesting. It is a curious object rather than a collector's coin. Quote
Coinery Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Could’ve been given to a lover named Anna by a gentleman with the surname Jack? My grandmother was Evelyn Jack, so not her 1 Quote
Citizen H Posted January 27 Author Posted January 27 these 2 are Jack free, seem to be in a nice condition....... Quote

Citizen H Posted January 29 Author Posted January 29 this is all of the 1d... I also need confirmation if the 4d is a Maundy.. the 1 1/2 is 1839 colonial silver coin...... I've file this in with others. any views comments will be greatly welcome. cheers for now "H" Quote
Paddy Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Nice group again there. You have the basis of a good Maundy collection. Yes the fourpence is Maundy. The circulation fourpence in the 19th century have Britannia on the reverse instead of the numeral 4. In any case, no circulation Britannia 4Ds were issued dated 1868. 1 Quote
Citizen H Posted February 28 Author Posted February 28 Another 6x 3 pence, Victorian & George V that I didn't realised that I had, I think they were again Boot Fair finds Circa 1990's the 1912 is in the nicest condition. Rgds "H" 2 Quote
