Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver has called for people to keep an eye out for "lorryloads of posh cheese" being sold "for cheap", after more than 22 tonnes of cheddar were stolen from London cheese specialist Neal’s Yard Dairy.

Fraudsters posing as legitimate wholesalers for a major French retailer were sent the 950 clothbound cheeses, which are worth more than £300,000, before it was realised they were a fake firm.

In a post on Instagram, Oliver told his followers: "There has been a great cheese robbery. Some of the best cheddar cheese in the world has been stolen."

He described it as a "real shame", adding: "If anyone hears anything about posh cheese going for cheap, it's probably some wrong'uns."

COULD BE MICE!

22 tonnes was reportedly stolen, and at the retail price of that stuff, the total is way over £300k...

Think they said each wheel was about 23kg, so the math works...

Back in the day, when I worked customer service for the Post Office, I was asked to organise a Meter Check Printer on a customer's line. As I recall, this was in connection with the theft of 50 tons of newsprint! My mind boggles as to how many trucks it took to nick that load and store it. And what for? It's not like you can flog it at a boot fair!

Maths is short for the plural 'mathematics' - how do you reckon 'math' is right??

Mathematics is hard. The athletics is on the telly.

Both singular, hence 'is', not 'are'.

When you abbreviate it, you shorten the word.

For some reason, maybe just because of the sound, the English keep the 's'...
