Paulus Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 Bull / ESC have this listed as R2, which doesn't seem to be reflected in Spink or realised sale prices. Probably an error? Anyway, here's my only example, not particularly high grade. 1 Quote
Peckris 2 Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 I don't know this variety. What am I looking for that's different to the normal one? Quote
Nick Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 The original ESC listed them as S which seems about right. Here's my example that sold recently. 1 Quote
Peckris 2 Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 Still waiting to know what this variety is - I thought there was only one type of 1915 florin? 1 Quote

VickySilver Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 Yes, just a standard one type only to the best of my knowledge. At one time there was rather a shortage of the 1915 in uncirculated (OK, GEF for the oldies) and it still IMO merits an "S" although some arguments for an "R". Not an R2 however. I really meant to get the latest Bull to see if he corrected some of the shortcomings, esp. the so-called VIP proofs of the 1920-1966 period; I had talked with Steve Hill and he was in agreement with some of my thoughts on these... Peckris 2 Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 Weird. It's rated more scarce than 1914 (lower mintage) but much less than 1911-1913. I am very surprised by the Bull rating, but maybe it's an error? Quote
