Take the last digit of the price away, and it might be a more realistic ball park.

Well try him! He probably has no more idea what it is worth than the next guy. Was it here or on another forum that there was an Ebay token up for £2400 BIN and an offer of £50 was made and accepted promptly.

Not for me - error coins are a mistake as far as I am concern - double meaning intended.

Too many decimal OMS coins out there. I agree with the price being off by a factor of 10. A predecimal half crown would be best, and prior to the 60s better yet.

Agreed. There's a huge difference between a unique misstrike (which no-one else will ever own and will never feature in any catalogue) and a genuine non-unique variety which collectors will always look for an example of.
