Nonmortuus Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Can anyone recommend some books on German coinage, preferably post unification? Thanks Non Quote
Gary Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Post unification? this is basically the standard Catalog for german Coins Schön available on Amazon. It is however in German. A more comprehensive Catalog is German coins 1601 to present from Krause which is in english Krause for an unbelievable price of 97 quid..... used....!!! or €56 used on German Amazon Krause I'm shocked at those prices!!!! I bought this Cat a few years back and the price on the cover is $59!!! 1 Quote
Nonmortuus Posted January 9, 2017 Author Posted January 9, 2017 Thank you. I have just picked up a few higher grade but common 1 Marks and wanted to learn a bit more. At those prices and as my German extends to hello and a few odd words picked up from my degree I may have to wait and see what pops up on ebay! Quote
Gary Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Have a look at this site. Münzauktion this is a popular German site for German and World Coins. The language can be changed to english and if you click on the MA Shops you can get a feel for the Prices of German coins. 1 Quote

azda Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 I'd also recommend the Kurt Jaeger book, starts at 1871 and also has provincial mints in there but only goes up to the 1990s as far as i can see. Maybe the updated version goes more in depth, but this is more focused on the Kaiserreich (Gold-Silver) Weimar Republic, 3rd Reich and Bundesrepublik until the 90s./ 1 Quote
