thomaspatton Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Please help me to determine if this is a high or low tide 1897 penny! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks-
RLC35 Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Definitely a Low Tide. The High tide line is higher than that!
Paulus Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 (edited) RLC35 (Bob) is right, another indicator is that with the High Tide variety the upright of the P in Penny points to a gap in the teeth. American cents are pennies and English pennies are cents! Love it! And welcome to the forum Edited December 31, 2015 by Paulus
RLC35 Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 (edited) ThomasPatton...Here is the 1897 High Tide. It also shows the position of the "P" in Penny, with regard to the tooth. Edited December 31, 2015 by RLC35
