DaveG38 Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Telling evidence of a counterfeiter, maybe? Quote
Flash Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 When I was a detectorist I found a few Victorian versions of this practice. I just assumed it was kids messing around, similar to the mercury plating of threepences. I can't see a lead imprint would be of any use for anything at all? Quote
Nutsaboutcoins Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Interesting piece, I wonder if a lead mould could be used to make a wax positives used for casting a forgery? but why forge a half penny? Quote
