I wanted a Millennium year 2000 coin set but the Royal Mint changed the shape of the case from the oblong style to a con caved edge style and it did not fit in with my other sets in a book formation.
So i thought i know i will buy a BU set and a BU crown and then purchase a 1999 empty case and put the coins in which i have done.
Now i have done it i think i have ruined the BU set and should have left the coins in the cardboard packet.

I have used my rare earth on the coins and it slides down slowly and smoothly with the coin on a 45 degree angle so I guess the silver content could be right.
Does anyone know what the mintage figures are for this new not to be released £1 coin and is it worth collecting another for my grandchildren as a possible little investment.
Thanks Dave
Just lately whilst viewing on a large auction site i have noticed that a lot of 50p, £1 and £2 coins seem to have the word "rare" next to them and it makes me laugh especially the wannabe millionaires selling a 50p for £400 as an example.
I live in Staffordshire and to be honest i have had about three and never bothered keep them and yesterday i had another and it is sitting here in front of me.
People are asking £14 to £18 plus delivery for a set of four capital city £1 coins and the quality is not that brilliant and i would love a set and to be honest it is the only set i have got my heart on but i just cannot get the set.
Dave
I am hoping to collect the four capital city £1 coins and I wondered if anyone could help please.
I feel embarrassed to say it but my budget is not much.
Thanks Dave
I have noticed on a large auction site that some people are asking extortionate prices like a few thousand on say a £2 coin as the date is missing so are they living on a different planet than me or are they being realistic.
Dave
They seem to go for different amounts according to quality which i understand and as such i have looked at sniping but one site said it needed my details like password so i ditched the idea.
I have the English oak, Irish Flax, Scottish thistle and the Welsh leek piedfort £1 coins for sale and there has only been 12 views in four days so maybe my wording is wrong
I thought today i had actually won a Kew gardens 50p and was beaten literally at 1 second left and it was snatched from my very eyes so i guess i need to learn how to snipe or however they do it.
