  1. I found this Ebay seller with some nice coins , are they fakes ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/ywostbtbdo/m.html
  2. I was hoping the second coin to get F+ , but its all about personal likes and the size of the wallet How much would the second coins price be if in a VF grade ? , I want one.....
  3. What was the coin , that may help.....
  4. How about this one......
  5. I would worry about the toning on that proof , I think its a lovely looking coin , but what will CGS think ?
  6. Never a mistake, but a 'learning experience'. And you would always get most of the money back 'on the Bay', but anyway its a nice looking coin, why worry? It is so difficult to tell from photos, may look great in the hand. Like that lovely Gothic Crown of yours; there is clearly very little expert agreement on this forum with the thoughts of one individual at CGS. Don't be disheartened! Not like the two and a half grand I spent repairing the daughters car last summer, only for her to sell it for £600 two weeks later because she 'didn't trust it'! AARGH........ Still, at least I've married her off now! Jerry That made me laugh , thank god mine has left the nest....
  7. another mistake
  8. Would you put its value around £60 ?
  9. Can some please help with the grade of this coin , I am told its GEF !
  10. She must have the HOTS for you mate
  11. If I try to phone , I will have to get past Semra, and I don't think that will happen I got what I wanted , to confirm it was not a fake, and it got a grade of EF which is what I was looking for As for the "Jeject" label , I was very upset at first , but can live with it
  12. Thanks VickySilver
  13. It came from an auction , and was described as "nicely toned EF" If it had said "re-toned" I don't think I would have purchased I,m not sure where "cleaned" came from , are you saying the coin would have been cleaned and then re-toned ?
  14. If I had a choice I would not send it to CGS , but there is not a lot of choice on where to send a coin for authentication in the UK Good luck with your grading , I hope you have better luck than I did
  15. I collect silver decimal sets , but I never buy from RM. My collection is about 2 years behind, because that's when they start to appear for sale on the internet (some times for a lot less money than RM sold them for)
  16. I think its such a shame that my coin gets marked "Reject" , and it looks a lot better than most for sale I,ll get over it , soon.........................
  17. I use my scanner connected to my PC , then set it at high resolution , then wait a few mins while it scan sit Only problem here is the pictures come out at about 8Mb each

  19. Then this one , look at the hair just behind the ear on this one , looks strange to me ! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-1847-GOTHIC-CROWN-UNDECIMO-BRITISH-SILVER-COIN-FROM-VICTORIA-AU-/361416808966?hash=item54261eda06:g:KmEAAOSwo0JWLkrw
  20. After having my crown marked as reject from CGS , I thought I would look what's around on the market Found this on Ebay , what do you think of the grading on this coin ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Victoria-Gothic-Crown-1847-Very-Rare-/252140999692?hash=item3ab4c6540c:g:bPkAAOSwI-BWLLfq
  21. A pair of wire cutters got mine out , just watch you don't damage the coin !
  22. Dave, can you open and re-use these slabs or are they permanently sealed once slabbed ? R My concern with plastic holders and coin capsules for that matter is that the size of hole is in mm increments. So for a crown size 38.6mm, one needs 39mm capsules / holder. Since this is not an exact fit, I am worried that the coin will get high points friction over time. Would crown size fit into a 38mm foam inset for these holders? Is it possible to get capsules that fit the coin size exactly? There is a piece of what feels like rubber around the edge of the coin to hold it in place to stop any friction
  23. I had to break the slab with a cutter to get my coin out , only the label and the coin survived !
  24. OMG , now I have a face to rant my anger at LOL Here Semra , I have a picture for you to look at .... ITS OUT NOW.......
