P.s. Did you see his other ĺistings? Cow & sheep teeth......found while out metal detecting. .....i asked him whether the teeth had fillings to be able to find them!! Then again, the faker that he is, they are most probably his own teeth!!

Hey guys....what a talented bunch of friends to have. Thank you!! Yes Jerry,Tom & Co it was Omega3 that i purchased this coin from. He says his imaginery friend is rather upset that i called him a fraudster. ..ooopss!! He won't accept a return, but ebay are always on the buyers side. It may take a couple of weeks for a refund but fortunately i am in no hurry. Its not the first time i have purchased a forgery that i knew of, to save some person being robbed. Ebay always refund me. Yes PWA (sorry i will hopefully get your names right eventually ) i buy milled coins and resell them, not always at a profit i may add and with whatever profit i make i reinvest it into a hammered coin. As you said i should stick to what i kind of know and not go walking in blind buying hammered coins and hoping everyone is honest. I think i have about a dozen of these coins and i will post them on here over the next few days. Hopefully they are ok because they are well past there return date.It is much appreciated you taking the time to look at my coins. Thank you all again. Kind regards. Kevin. .. (sorry but when it asked for a user name i never realised it was supposed to be my real name!!)

Upcoming auction for unique celtic iron age silver unit
declan03 replied to little-treasurez's topic in Ancient Coins
Does anyone know how much the coin sold for.....or where the good Peter was metal detecting? -
I have an old friend who sells Roman coins on ebay (not my thing). He is would you believe, 90 years old. ...nearly as old as some of his coins!!! He only purchases his coins from reputable auction houses and all his coins have a lifetime guarantee. ...though at 90 years old.... His seller name is cott2556 and i,m sure if some of the specialist in this field had a look at his site, they would vouch for his coins. Hope this helps.

Hi again. Does anyone know what this coin is? I only bought it out of curiosity. It weighs approximately 6.3 grams and has a diameter of 21mm. Thanks in advance. Regards.

Gosh!! Thank you guys. I purchased it from ebay last week. I had a niggling doubt about it, what with the porousness and it just didn't seem to have that silver noise you here when you drop it. I can see the copy sign now that it has been pointed out to me!! I only wonder how many of the rest of my hammered coins are fakes, ten or so in total. Anyway i cannot thank you guys enough. I will get on the case for a refund. Kind regards.

Here is the reverse...

Hi guys. I am quite new to collecting hammered coins. I purchased this one last week. Its a Charles 1st hammered shilling. My doubt about it is that it looks rather porous. Is this unusual? Your help is always appreciated. Regards.

Oh right, i forgot you mentioned that. I only have the account from which i purchased the coin from unfortunately. Thanks for keeping me updated though. And sorry i seem to have typed the last message in twice.

Hi PWA. It must be a different seller.

Thanks guys. Yes those were the words i was trying to think of when trying to grade it....eye appeal!! Its actually a lot darker than the picture from which i bought it. But i am happy enough with it at the price. If it can come up any lighter with your idea Peckris then all the better.

Thats a nice coin Paulus!! The shiny side on my coin was a bit of a put off after reading the comments, so i,ve sold it for £125, which is still reasonable considering the quality of the coin. I will wait until another comes along that has not been polished. Some people!! Polishing a matt proof coin uugghhh!! Thank you all once again for your valued help.

Heres another with a shiny side. Quite strange to have two with a shiny side. 1902 EDWARD VII HALFCROWN.txt

Yes, i just purchased it last week. I seen from the pictures that one side was shiny when i bought it. I may just sell it on. I think i will maybe get more than the purchase price. I will sell it as is and not have you guys cringing at the thought of me polishing the other side. On the other hand....is there anything i can use to dull the shiny side down?
-
Do you think its worth cleaning the other side?
-
I purchased it for £85, so still a good buy?
