  1. Can anyone remember who put this up on the forum a while ago ? I'd like a picture of the obverse to include on my rare pennies site. Richard
  2. Yes, the last penny I bought from Stacks Bowers came via UPS without any problem.
  3. I refused to pay the last Fedex bill @ 20% and they raised a query and eventually reduced their invoice some 3 months later although I received several very threatening letters from their debt collection agents despite assurances that I didn't need to worry - it wasn't a pleasant experience.
  4. They've been doing this for ages. The 2019 set of 50p's is only £19.95 with Westminster compared with £45 from the Mint !
  5. This has become the thread that I turn to first every day and I'd be sad to see the end of it (unless Theresa gets a one years extension) so can't we just respect our differences ? After all, it's only mirroring the country.
  6. If anything, they (and I) were putting more of their faith in the Westminster elite rather than the European bureaucrats. How stupid is that ?
  7. Obverse A Obverse B A & B much closer together on obverse B
  8. rarer than the chances of parliament regaining the trust of the people................................
  9. And pigs may fly............................ And I may find a BU F90 penny.........................
  10. Wow - this could be a unique striking.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1912-H-UK-Queen-Victoria-One-Penny/192875121266?hash=item2ce840ca72:g:oKEAAOSwVXdcVabm
  11. One point in their favour is that they did accept an offer from me once that was substantially below their asking price. It pays to haggle with them.
  12. Nil illegitimus carborundum (don't let the bastards grind you down !)
  13. Yes, I've added these 1902 Trials to my rare penny website - there's an interesting combination of obverses and reverses, all interchangeable.
  14. Just watched our MPs plumb new depths with their insulting remarks about Mrs May in the Commons today.
  15. Also from his site (which does contain his stock): 1952, dies 3+C, BMC-; F.-; S.4117 (Unique), this coin , carbon spot by second N of PENNY and another behind head, otherwise brilliant, and the only known example, Ex. A H Baldwin 125th Centennary Auction, 13th October 1997 and Rasmussen List 9 (C109). Up until its appearance in the Baldwin sale the existence of this piece was not known to the collecting fraternity, with the exception of Baldwin's management. It now joins the ranks along with the other great rarities, the pennies of 1933, 1937 (Edward VIII) and the 1954.
  16. It's been on sale for a year at £135K and not sold so I imagine something like £80K hammer plus commission might get it..........
  17. "I have noticed the 1952 Proof penny is for auction in June" Can someone post the link please.
  18. Can we afford not to ? Put your money into something before Corbyn gets it !!
  19. If things were going so badly, why didn't David Davies speak up earlier ? Like 18 months or more ago ?
  20. Most of them lured away from my Saints F.C. with umpteen pieces of silver. I hate them as much as I hate Man U. But enough of this - back to Brexit.
  21. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/extremely-rare-1915-one-penny/183726981238?hash=item2ac6fb4076:g:F0MAAOSwJiBcWctO Where do these cretins come from ?
