  8. I think Chris would know if it were a proof. If he sold it as normal ABU, it will most probably be ABU - it could have been one of mine that I sold to him!

  11. Honestly, what's it going to be - Queen Jacqueline?
  12. The obverse looks very much like it has been melted. A few weeks ago I held some coins over the hobs over the cooker to see what happened to them, and a George Vi halfpenny turned the shade of red which you see on the obverse - could the reverse have been burned off?
  13. Merry Christmas to all, it's been a wonderful year what with CC and the new members. I can only hope next year is as good, if not better!
  14. Is the obverse relief quite high? The legend looks out of focus compared to the effigy. Super coin by the way!
  15. Linky
  16. Firstly, the mintmark H is the Heaton mint, Birmingham Ltd. KN is the Kings Norton Metal Company, also in Birmingham. Value will depend on: 1) Denomination of coin 2) Date of coin 3) Condition of coin The coins will be pennies I imagine. If you can attach pictures of them we can assess the grade better, but you must first register. Using Photobucket to host will save the bandwidth of this forum. Edit: If you are already proficient at grading, the pictures won't be needed as we can quote a direct book value.
  17. Cheers Chris, I take it business is brisk at this time of year?
  18. Do you have any pictures up? I scoured your listings but couldn't find any mention of them.
  19. I've been thinking about the direction of my collection an in the next year I hope to: 1) Buy at least two Maundy sets. I have my eye on a 1902 set on Andy's site at the moment 2) Branch out into foreign gold - the French 20F Rooster and the later Swiss 20F. What do you want to complete this year?
  20. Me too, I especially like composite columns.
  21. The price of gold is acutally rising and it's the highest price for sixteen years BBC, third paragraph
