  1. Thanks Rob, is it a decent grade, am no use with hammered, it looks decent, but could be any grade to me. Oh more importantly, what sort of price would i be looking at paying for it, not wanting to pay over the odds either. I'm a Scotsman lol
  2. State of preservation combined with length of the reign boosts prices. Why are the 1854 victoria silver coins rarer considering she was on the throne for 60 odd years? You could ask yourself the same question regarding Edward VIII coins, why are all 5 figures and above consodering he was on the throne 8 months.
  3. The same coin in better condition might have made that money, but yours is not in that better condition, hence you won't see that price for yours.
  4. Spotted this little hammered piece and it's been attributed as Henry III, i'm not a hammered man, but this coin has some appeal to me for some reason, perhaps because the detail of the OBV looks great compared to some i've seen. I've only got Spink to go by, but i'm not so sure it's Henry III S1355, it looks more like a Richard I s1347. Can any of you hammered men ID it correctly? Forgot to mention, it's 1.38g
  5. UNC, i'm selling (joking ladies)
  6. PCGS don't bodybag, but they note it on the holder. Everyone had a Problem with my PCGS authenticity of a British coin, so this way a British dealer does the authentication and then at least we know its kosha, then the grading by PCGS, Win Win all round.
  7. Chris is going to authenticate then when ut comes back probably slabbing, all being kosha that is
  8. If the one at the last London coins auction can fetch 2k i'm scared to think what this could do.
  9. I've spoke to our leader Chris Perkins and am sending it to him in Germany Tomorrow. I also saw the lines, but Let's Be honest, i have'nt Seen one so good. Pix were crap, had to take them inside As it was raining, so hopefully 2 more tomorrow if its clear. I was thinking it was more "lightly cleaned" as There's no shine associated with buffing
  10. Lol, pix in the morning Mr Cynic, it came after i Left for work, patience obi wan kenobi
  11. Just As well its insured then
  12. Dan, good advice from forum members is always collect the book before the coin.
  13. Getting excited now, coin will be here tomorrow bummer, no drool button FEDEX PRIORITY
  14. That is an interesting remark as I was just thinking of getting a few world coins slabbed by them (PCGS or NGC) but I was actually wondering if it would be best to split them up i.e. do they British ones here and the world by PCGS in America. The mind doth boggle... Geez, anyone listening????????? PCGS IS IN EUROPE, why send to the States now? MEIN GOTT!!!
  15. I use Nero lol, but thanks for the tip
  16. I keep asking the same question about CGS, so Let's try another way, don't mosr of us say that 1 mans grade is Not anothers, yet we're letting One man Tell us what is what, what are Hus credentials and who made him king of the UK grading system? I'm only asking because a Lot of People take His grading and grading method as gospel, why?
  17. PCGS are not just across the pond, they also have certified graders in various EU countries, i've got 5 names in Germany and bought coins from 3 of them (unslabbed) i didn't actually realise that they did that until i emailed the French PCGS and She Sent me a link to the German certified graders, so i'm sure there must be someone in the UK to
  18. The 2nd coin was just for cimparisson against the 1sr Rob. Might be that the 1st was a good early strike
  19. We actually have a PCGS certified grader in Munich. I emailed the Frau at the new PCGS place in Paris and she gave me a list of German PCGS approved graders, one of which i met last week at the Munich coin fair, but i know the guy, or know of him in Munich, he has a shop in one of the poshest districts in Munich, so after its in hand and obligatory pics taken, weighed and measured i'll be heading directly over to him for (more authenticity) and grade of the 1905 Halfcrown Taking it's time to arrive isn't it ? Is that a whiff of fish..... No its a whiff of me making an arse of the international bank transfer, which i didn't realise until they emailed me asking where the payment was
